I’m just looking for reassurance…
I’m a FTM of a beautiful 4 month baby girl. EBF, doesn’t take bottles or pacifiers.
Today I went out with some friends by myself for the first time in 4 months so dad stayed home with baby… I did bath time, fed her and made sure bubba was asleep before I left. Wanted to make sure her routine didn’t get disrupted and he’s usually pretty good with her sleep for the first part of the night so I thought I could go out for an hour for some me time… Ofcourse she woke up within 40 min of me leaving the house so I got home earlier.
I could hear her screams from outside the house and when I walked in dad was close to tears aswell and he kept saying how she doesn’t like him and that if anything ever happened to me that he wouldn’t be able to look after her.
This saddens me so much because I feel it hurts him and I think in a way he might resent her. I don’t know. I just….i feel that I can’t really do anything by myself or for myself anymore. Just hope that with time she’ll be happier to be with him without having to have me around. I’m exhausted.

I completely understand this. I will say that the good thing about babies this age is that these phases don’t last forever (only wanting mommy) and for him not to take it personal. It doesn’t feel good to hear your baby crying I’m sure, but honestly those moments with baby will help him. He will learn what soothes her in his own way by spending more alone time with her. So I would encourage you to continue taking your mommy time outside the house so he can learn her.

My baby's the same, husband has found that a finger in the mouth sometimes helps

My baby is 4 and a half months and he used to be the same, until recently. At the moment he get bored of being only with me the whole day (even though I take him out every day and try to find activities) and often crying more in the evenings but as soon as daddy is home and takes him, he is all an Angel, all smiling and ‘talking’ to my husband. 🤷🏻♀️ And my husband used to get sad when little one will preferred me, but now he doesn’t know how to pass the baby back to me sometimes 😂😂
Just encourage him (and yourself) that babies change very often. And also, dads become better at doing stuff with their little ones, which helps. :)
