Formula help!

Maybe switch to an amino acid based formula, like elecare. Soy formulas are going to cause constipation and cow milk based can cause irritation.

We are on a partially hydrolyzed formula and like it. It is easy to digest and no soy. So if she has issues with dairy and soy then I highly recommend. I did do a European one which I know may not be accessible but it is free shipping and they often have sales. I’m doing HIPP HA Pre

It’s similar to alimentan and nutrimegan which are extensively hydrolyzed. Extensively means the dairy is broken down 90%+. Partially means it’s broken down 86-87%.

My son is on simalac sensitive we tried almost every enfamil and simalac formula and the sensitive was the only one that actually worked for him

We LOVE Bobbie gentle. We tried ByHeart and absolutely hated it but Bobbie has been absolutely amazing for us.

I use Baby’s only gentle infant formula. It works really well for my son, it has A2 proteins to help digest the milk easier. Granted I only give him one bottle of formula when his dad feeds him and I don’t have any pumped milk but it has not caused any gassiness

Currently going through reflux issues again with Gentlease which he's been fine on for 7 weeks until now. He's taking Pepcid at the moment because of this. I'm on a group for colicky babies and a lot of moms have sworn by Nutramigen or Alimentum. I think they're a little more pricey for ready made, but I'll pay anything to keep the reflux away. Waiting to talk to the pediatrician for next steps because I definitely don't want him on pepcid for too long

we went through similac total care, sensitive, soy, and enfamil gentle ease and soy, and none of them worked for my daughter. she would projectile vomit everything, horrible diaper rash, had the WORST acid reflux, and screamed all the time. we thought she was colicky. but we switched to similac alimentum and it's been great! she handles it SO well, along with pepcid for GERD and acid reflux. it's a little pricey, but i think cheaper than nutramigen. she tolerates the premade ready to feed better than the powder though. i'm not sure why but she does lol. so that's what we've been doing since she was about a month old and she's 3 months now and it's night and day difference.

We also use baby’s only gentle. We first tried kendamil and my guy spit up so much. He has no digestive issues with baby’s only and sleeps like a dream. I hope you find something that works for you soon!

Kendamil Goat’s Milk.

I had to combo feed due to slow weight gain, and hospital started us on similac, but he had pretty bad, painful gas.

I did a TON of research and the truth is that USA companies put crap that doesn’t belong in a baby in their formulas, so I looked outside of US. (I also suspect a milk sensitivity.) USA-based formulas even smell gross in comparison! We tasted both, and our country was 🤢.

Now, he doesn’t cry and have painful gas, and I know with 100% certainty he is getting a decent tasting meal and not going to be in pain. Def consider trying an European-based brand.

Kendamil is comparable to Enfamil Neuropro & Similac 360 Total Care.

my daughter went though about 10 formula before we go her on the right one Enfamil A.R and now with my son going though it and I might have to try nutramigen because the AR not working on him

i wonder if wic would allow it

not sure on that one but tbh I find them to be the cheaper out of a lot of formulas.

we are on Pepcid too. The hydrolyzed formulas worked better than goats milk in my opinion

One review said they even got off famotidine with the HIPP HA Pre and that’s how I’m feeling too. She didn’t take her dose last night (puked it - she hates the taste) and today she’s doing pretty good. I feel like we could come off soon hopefully

We did try the Holle Dutch Goats Milk Stage 1 and she did digest it well but it just smelled like butter milk and her reflux seemed to be heavier than with the HIPP HA Pre. I did the Pre and not Stage 1 because the Pre didn’t have corn. She doesn’t seem to have an issue with corn but I was just nervous so I did the Pre. She eats it so well, it must take good

The only formula worked for my baby is Hipp Comfort, we probably tried every formula on the market, bobbie by heart, kendamil nothing worked

How long has she been on the Pepcid? Is your doctor recommending the formula switches or you're just trying different ones yourself?

we’ve been on Pepcid since 4 weeks old and she’s now 13 weeks. She recommended formula because of weight gain issues and she recommended Aliminum or whatever it’s spelled because it’s hydrolyzed. I had cut dairy, soy and everything in the soy family from my breast milk so I knew my baby had intolerances (but she doesn’t appear to have allergies). Independently I researched hydrolyzed options and found that HIPP hypoallergenic might work or goats milk. So I tried both. I like the hypoallergenic much better. And as I said, I chose the HIPP HA Pre vs HIPP HA Stage 1 simply because the corn ingredient. I think it would probably be fine, but because of her other intolerances, I just decided to be safe.

Sounds like you've been through the ringer too! I couldn't breastfeed, but Im really hoping he doesn't have allergies. It's just so hard getting ahold if the pediatrician and I'm about to make my own decision of switching him to something new and hoping I don't make it worse. Looking for any advice with milk to make a decision
