Throw in some age appropriate dry food. Mix it in with 2 cans then 1 can and he should ge getting satisfied.

Not much advice to to give but I had a similar experience when we got our pup my older dog would pick at his food I put food in a morning he would get bits when he felt like it I'd top up at night then we got pup he suddenly started demolishing his breakfast and tea I mean it was there then gone pup never stole it he wasn't allowed near big bros dish I had to get a slow feeder bowl but I was lucky he was a Japanese chin so a small dog couldn't steal from counter tops but I reckon if he was bigger he would have done.
Maybe try going back to basics on training have some food in one hand open as soon as his nose goes near it say ahh ahh in deep voice and close hand he will get he can't touch it he will keep trying but keep going until he leaves about 30 seconds then in the other hand a dog treat/kibble say take it and give him it keep at it. When he's got that he can't take food from your hand with put your permission move on to plates on the side sit next to plate don't let him take but put treats on floor.

Then give command to take it he will learn he can't take from plate but he can from floor with command only.

Dogs always needs boundaries. Cat bowls & litter trays should always be out of reach from dogs.

Tin dog food & dry dog food are all packed full of badness. Always read the ingredients. If it starts with cereals, it's no good. Look at the content of how mu h meat is in there. If its not 80% or more, get rid. No food should contain derivatives, veg oil as these ingredients aren't in a normal diet for a dog.

Have you considered raw feeding? You can get complete foods. So it will be 80 meat 10 bone 10 offal. This will reduce his poohs, he will only pooh a small amount as well. Less smell. Feeding a dog on a good diet won't have much waste. The more waste a dog has, means they are taking in too much badness from the food they are eating.

If he is fast at eating, I would get a slow feeder. Eating fast takes in air which then has a high risk of the stomach flipping. Once this happens you have a very small window. Otherwise it's not good. Also slowing down his food intake, will give his brain & stomach

To communicate, this will say he is full. Dogs will steal giving the chance, bit if it's not there then they won't.

I would definitely make a few changes to where the cats bowls etc are. & have a look into his diet. I work with dogs, & I have my own on raw. I was constantly in & out of the vets. Spending money every time. Soon as I put him on raw. We haven't been to the vets for his allergies, bowel disease & joint problems in over 4 years. My 8 month old pup. The 1st day I put her straight on to raw. By day 2 her poohs went from sloppy & sticky to small hard marbles. No smells. Teeth for my nearly 10 year old are in perfect condition. I don't flea or worm my dog. I use garlic tablets & furry treats I.e rabbit ears for worming. Labradors are known for being over weight. They need to have a waist, if he's short & stocky, I would have him at 27kg no more. Standard & tall 30-35kg. This is totally normal if you’ve introduced a new pet into the house - it’s literally just now he feels he has competition for his food. Just make sure both the kitten and him have separate areas to eat and that it’s quiet around him when he’s fed - we have two labs and it’s pretty typical of them but agree with everyone else, try and buy him some good quality dry food as the wet food doesn’t tend to be as nutritious so with 4 walks he may be quite hungry x

Thank-you all for advice I may look into raw feeding as he does have allergies. He doesn't like dry food will not entertain it even as a mixer won't touch his food. Both have separate feeding areas. They bothe get wet food except there treat dinners which is boiled fish on a Friday and boiled chicken on a Sunday.
His walks are 10 min walk around park at back of my house because he will not soil in back garden, so he gets one at half 6 then around 12ish then 4pm and last one at 7pm. X

it sounds like you’re doing everything right. It might just be a phase till he feels secure enough that the kitten isn’t there to steal his food x

If you can afford to, we feed our dog raw food by Bella and duke int the evening alongside a cup full of fibre biscuits for his lunch which we hand feed him on his walks. Both super nutritious and gives him all he needs for a healthy and happy diet that he is satisfied with.

Deffo not the cheapest but we would never go back.

My dog won’t eat the biscuits from his bowl either which is why we hand feed on his walks and he takes them, when he was younger we used to chuck them for him to chase and eat and he loved the game.
