How often are we all using our heating? Obviously with being on maternity and I extended to a year we’re really feeling the pinch. Heating is extortionate and my partner and I are often arguing about how much we’re using it. In my eyes it’s ok for us we can put an extra layer on when we’re cold or we’re tucked up under our nice warm duvet at night but our lo can’t do those things. I like to use the heating a few hours a day however I’m not stupid and know the bill will be ridiculous but I just feel so bad if I don’t.

We’ve been overpaying all through the summer so we’re in quite a lot of credit so that helps out. I am just leaving the thermostat to 17 so if it drops it comes on. My little girl wakes up enough without being cold so I’ll do anything to stop it 😆. My partner and I agree that I baby shouldn’t feel the cold. Maybe try to agree with your partner a temp that is too cold so you can put the heating on without arguing x

We do an hour in the morning 5:30-6:30 (usually when the kids wake up) and then if needed we’ll do another hour in the evening. Could probably do with it more in the day now it’s getting colder but I’m taking it day by day and seeing how we get on

We have a 500w radiator in the baby bedroom. I bought a smart plug and smart thermostat for it so it turns on when it drops below 17oc and turns off when it goes above 18oc. We also have a bigger oil radiator in the living room which we put on in the morning for a few hours and then again in the evening. We turn it off when LO goes to bed at 6.30.
