Still struggling with wind

So my baby has always struggled with wind and tummy pain. He was breast fed for 3 months, then we combi fed with Kendamil then we switched to Aptamil comfort because I thought it would help. We the we’re all formula fed but still struggling with wind really bad so switched to regular Aptamil. STILL struggling with his tummy I went to the doctors and they’ve prescribed Nutramigen and we’re still struggling! He has green diarrhoea now. I literally don’t know what to do next…?

Basically he thrashes his legs around and cry’s after a feed. As he’s feeding he’s squirming and uncomfortable. I feel so sorry for him, the poor lad just wants to feed and he’s having all this pain.

If anyone else has had this and has found a formula that helped… what is it??? I’m tempted to go back to Kendamil as this is so highly rated and we only tried it when we’re were combi feeding so I’ve not really given it a chance on it’s own…??

He is 4 months.
Literally ANY advice is welcomed.

Our little one suffered really badly from about a week old and one that has helped is Dentinox drops in his milk. They’re marketed as “colic” drops but most colic is caused by trapped wind/digestive issues that cause pain and discomfort. It’s hard to find in stock where I live and you might find the same - but infacol, coleif and gripe water all serve the same purpose, it’s just a case of finding what works best for your baby.

We also switched milk from aptamil to hipp which is a lot less frothy so helped a lot. My SIL had just switched to hipp from kenadmil too because of the wind issue

I don’t want to say it definitely is but maybe Cows milk protein allergy? The formula Will have a higher content of it in compared to what your breast milk would of had. Would you say it’s gotten worse since going onto formula?☺️

Thanks everyone. we’ve tried all the home remedies (gripe water, infocol, colif). None ever seemed to work 😖 my friend uses Hipp and raves about it too.

yes I thought the same and this is why the doctor prescribed Nuteamigen for us. We’re still having the same issues though and his poo is like green water 🙈 Just feel for him so much. We have a follow up appointment with the doctor on Wednesday, I have a feeling she’ll now treat it as reflux 😖xx

You could try a different bottle? Mam ones are quite good, and some people swear by the Doctor Brown's ones. And I think using a slower teat will help. If he's taking in lots of air he might also have a tongue tie, so you could check for that?

Dummy

My baby has had a dummy since about 2 weeks old (now 5 months) and over the course of the last month we weaned her off it during the day only for naps and night (which was fine) and then 5 days took it completely away during the day.

The first day no dummy was fine, the second bit rougher. But now it feels impossible she just moans and cries all the time it takes ages for her to go down to sleep (she’s always been an amazing sleeper)

I thought it was meant to get better as time went on not worse. I’m at my wits end I dunno what to do.

Currently typing this as she screams uncontrollably in the car and I cry with her cos I can’t do anything.

Of these two, which seems more overall “demanding” to you, overall? Lighthearted poll, not putting anyone down 🫶🏼

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.

Is this normal?

My 12m old is really funny with kids going near him, he’s always been this way, but anytime family’s kids sit next to him or head his way he moans or cries and moves away. He also really observes them and is never really relaxed, always looking over his shoulder. Has anyone experienced this? (He’s starting nursery properly tomorrow so hoping this helps) but is this normal?

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!
