I had the balloon. I wouldn’t say it was painful but it was uncomfortable, just a lot of pressure down there (but I think that was a mix of the balloon and the fact I was preparing to birth a whole ass child). The ballon was able to get me to 7cm and then I got a epidural because my back pain was crazy. Overall had an okay experience with the balloon, no complaints.

I had a balloon put in and they were able to pull it out in a couple of hours. They said it comes out once you’re dilated to 4 It’s pressure and pretty uncomfortable and weird. Not the most pleasant experience but it did the job.

I would say it’s really painful but once they put it in within 4-5 hours and I had my son. I was only 2cm with they put it in too.

see i’m just now dilated to a 1 and my ob is saying we’re gonna use the balloon to help dilate me to a 3-4 then he’s gonna go in and break my water.. and it just sounds so scary

I had an epidural, thank Frick! She had to dig for a good 20 minutes to get that balloon in and said that there was no way she could have done it without the epidural.
If you're not against it, get the epidural. You won't feel a thing. It was pretty amazing haha

i definitely plan on getting an epidural im just nervous im going to get too soon and feel the actual labor if that makes sense

my Dr is putting the balloon in me thursday night and sending me home, to return to the hospital friday morning for my L&D. wth?😩

putting it in then sending you home to come back? oh my i’m so sorry

@Jessalyn it's continuous. I had mine in stupid early Friday morning with it going off every 45 minutes on it's own and I had a button I could push for a little extra. I had it going until after my csection Sunday late afternoon. Ask your doctor if it is continuous or just a 1 and done. I imagine it would be continuous until birth otherwise they'd have to come back to give it again as you got closer.
