Hi,
So I know from September next year we would all be eligible for 15 hours free funding of childcare.
Is that 15 hours per week? If so, can she do like x2 days of 3 hours per day so 6 hours per week and that’s completely free?
Trying to get my head around it 😅

Hey it's 15 hours a week but most nurseries can't afford to provide it so there'll be top ups etc (all charge for different bits.) I think pregnant then screwed said only 17% of nurseries are doing it because of the low funding for it. A lot of nurseries only allow full or half days so wouldn't allow 3 hours although you might be able to find one that does. Probably worth speaking to your local nurseries and seeing what they can offer you

In theory, yes… but depends on nursery availability etc… it’s gonna be a strain of them

Nursery’s will also have what you can have as a minimum to stay for so 3 hours could possibly be too short depending on the provider

Also the nursery might be open 11 hours a day and 11 out of your 15 hours might go on that one day.
It's up to them how they split it up.
It's not 52w a year, I don't think. It's def not currently.
You may also have to contribute towards food and activity costs.
So much like everything...sounds great until you actually look in to it

Yes but each council is different. So my council funds £3.50 per hour but most local nurseries are £6-7 per hour so you have to make up the difference.. you also have to be able to get a place in the first place
