Good afternoon, FTM here to a LG after 6 years infertility and 9 👼. I’m booked in for an induction this Sunday at exactly 39 weeks so any advice or anyone willing to share a positive induction experience would be really helpful to try and ease the nerves 🥴🥰

Just eat before getting induce ! Wish you a great induction ♥️ and big congrats!

I was induced @40 weeks dont be hard on yourself have patience yes eat a good meal because sometimes they don’t let u eat certain foods everything is going to be okay !! 💕💕

I was induced with my first, had the pessary at 4pm on the Sunday, was moved to the delivery ward by 1am the Monday morning, had the epidural not long after that as contractions were coming thick and fast, my daughter was born at 12:57 in the afternoon on the Monday. Only pushed for for 35 mins, no rips, no tears, no cuts, not need for forceps or anything like that. It was absolutely fine. I’m hoping and praying for a nice straight forward delivery like that this time round too!!
Good luck, you’ll be fine 🩷

Thank you so much ! As soon as I get a call to go in on Sunday I’ll make sure I have time for food beforehand ! Hopefully it’s nice, smooth and straightforward 🥰🤞🏼

Fingers crossed I have a similar experience and massive good luck for this time round for you! Hopefully history re repeats itself and everything is straightforward with your delivery 💗💗

Best of luck Tamara!! I hope everything goes nice and smoothly for you and little one 😊
I’m getting induced on Thursday at 39 weeks also!
Also feeling super nervous but trying to focus on the excitement

I had my first sweep yesterday and I was 1-2cm and her head is 3/5th engaged, I’ve been getting contractions ever since but none that have affected my breathing and I can still talk through them so if anything it’s very very early labour atm haha!! I’m reallyyyy hoping something big will start happening in the next few days 🤞🏼.
Good luck for when your time comes, we’ve got this 💪🏽🩷

But always have in mind other options like c-section because i was induced at 40 weeks but my cervix didn’t opened after days they decided that c-section was the best for me

I have just had a long induction but it worked well. Most of the delays were due to bed availability and was allowed to sleep at home. I only needed 1 tablet and then waters breaking as they found meconium in the waters we had to change the plan as I was going to be allowed 2hrs to see if things progressed naturally to get my pool birth but that was dropped to an hour. Went on the drip and got from 3cm to 7cm in 4hrs just using gas and air. I then got overstimulated and they stopped the oxytocin and I had to up pain relief to a pca with the gascand air and 4hrs later was ready to push. Got up on all 4s and after 1hr 3mins of pushing baby arrived at 9lb 5. All in all positive experience but took from Saturday when was inducted and dilated to 3cm and took till 6am Tuesday for a bed to be available om delivery

I was just induced with my son as a FTM at 38 weeks, it wasn't planned but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be, nerve wracking yes but everything was fine and he came out pretty quickly after I was fully dilated

I was induced on Friday, I was already 2cm dilated so they could break my waters. I was then put on Oxytocin at 5.30pm they said your contractions can take up to 6 hours to start. Luckily mine started after 2 hours, by 11.30pm I was 4cm dilated and 4am 10cm dilated. I was then left for a couple of hours before pushing. I had the epidural which i couldn’t of done it without as the contractions where getting very intense and his heart rate was starting to drop. I also has Strep B, so was on antibiotics every 4 hours. I would highly recommend making sure you eat before the oxytocin as you can’t eat until your baby is born. Due to the amount of medication been put into you it did make me quite nausea but I had an anti sickness tablet. All in all it was a really positive experience and the midwife’s/consultants were great x
