My little girl is fully toilet trained in the day; she will wee and poo completely independently and reliably on her own. However, we’re really struggling to get her dry through the night. We stop fluids an hour before bedtime, give her a wee before bed and first thing, potty by her bed and open door so she can get to the toilet due to her preference and we don’t put the pull up on her until she actually falls asleep so we know it’s definitely through the night. Any tips?? X

Yeah I’ve heard of stuff like this before. I know it’s to do with a hormone in their brain that kicks in to keep them dry through the night. Idk if you’re the same but it confuses me how my girl can be so perfect with using the toilet during the day but then through the night she doesn’t even wake up to use the toilet xx

My little boy is nowhere near ready to be potty trained at night. His nappies are so full in the morning and I've been really worrying about it!! I did a post about it a while ago and there was different opinions as to whether you should wait until the hormone increases or train them. I don't know what to do tbh!

yeah I check it before I go to bed and when we wake up and it’s more full by morning so she deffo pees while asleep x

yeah my little girl is the same! I’ll have a look for the post and see what people have to say x

yeah I’m well aware about the hormone, read back at my previous message on this thread. She’s still in pull ups at night, I never took them off her. I was simply asking if there’s anything else I can do to help her in the meantime. Routines/habits. Me and my sister used to wake up to pee in the night so I was just after other parents experiences

yeah we’re doing the same here. I agree with you. I don’t want to take her out of pull ups at night until she’s waking up dry for a good few days. I don’t think waking up wet would benefit her because a) it’s a hormone b) wet underwear didn’t encourage her with day training. Xx
