SMA comfort or cow and gate?

My now 14 week old baby has had colic since he was about 2 weeks old he was on SMA pro1 then all of a sudden he was constantly crying and pulling his legs to his stomach and in agony he would refuse his feeds and want a drop off milk then cry then I put him on SMA comfort colic and constipation then he got better he is now drinking his milk and is windy. SMA comfort is so expensive and hard to find cz not many shops sell it apart from boots. (SMA comfort is quite thick so he likes it)
I tried to put him back on SMA pro1 but it’s so thin the milk he won’t take it he refuses the bottle. Is it worth putting him on cow and gate or another brand or just leaving him on SMA comfort?

Hello. We were on aptamil and changed to cow and gate for the same reason as you describe. I'd say combined with his gut developing he isn't as bad as he once was. Cow and gate is also easier to get hold of. Its cheapest in superdrug and savers. X

do u think he should go for cow and gate now cz SMA he refuses

Ours took to cow and gate straight away no issues. You might find it's a thicker milk and needs mixed more prior to feeds xxx

I’ve tried normal cow and gate he drank about 2 ounces then refused it so I got fed up and am trying him back on SMA comfort cz the only thing is he is putting on weight with the comfort but he doesn’t always drink it

Sorry I should have said ours is cow and gate comfort. Ours did initially screw his face up but did take it. It's a hit or a miss. He doesn't drink all of every bottle but he's gaining weight at a good rate x

If he is good on the SMA comfort and happy . I would stick with it but maybe order like x2 or 3 at a time to click and collect at boots?

For wind maybe try Infacol? X

infacol doesn’t work neither does gripe water I have to physically wind him every time

Avatar

what do you mean by physically wind him?

Like Pat his back?

I wind my little boy every 2oz and at the end of the bottle.
He has silent reflux and struggles a lot x

no not burp wind
I do bicycle legs and press his legs to his stomach eventually the fart comes out and he’s okay

Dummy

My baby has had a dummy since about 2 weeks old (now 5 months) and over the course of the last month we weaned her off it during the day only for naps and night (which was fine) and then 5 days took it completely away during the day.

The first day no dummy was fine, the second bit rougher. But now it feels impossible she just moans and cries all the time it takes ages for her to go down to sleep (she’s always been an amazing sleeper)

I thought it was meant to get better as time went on not worse. I’m at my wits end I dunno what to do.

Currently typing this as she screams uncontrollably in the car and I cry with her cos I can’t do anything.

Of these two, which seems more overall “demanding” to you, overall? Lighthearted poll, not putting anyone down 🫶🏼

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Is this normal?

My 12m old is really funny with kids going near him, he’s always been this way, but anytime family’s kids sit next to him or head his way he moans or cries and moves away. He also really observes them and is never really relaxed, always looking over his shoulder. Has anyone experienced this? (He’s starting nursery properly tomorrow so hoping this helps) but is this normal?

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!
