5 month old

I need some help! I’m not sure if I need help of a sleep consultant or if I should wait it out. My baby just turned 5 months old. So my baby is waking 2 times at night for feeding. After the first feed he is able to fall back asleep but will wake up either an hour later or 30-45 minutes later. I give him the pacifier sometimes he falls back asleep sometimes he will keep moving his head around and slamming his legs. Then I have to pick him up and rock him. He’s getting so heavy and it’s so hard to rock him all the time. Even for naps he always wants to be rocked again and again and honestly my hands and back are giving up on me. He isn’t sleeping through the night at all. He will wake up and expect me to rock him back to sleep and he’s still not dropping his night feeds. Is anyone else going through this. I don’t know if I need to bring in a sleep consultant as he’s 5 months now or if I should wait a little bit longer. I’m just so sleep deprived and desperate :( if anyone has any tips that would be super helpful!

Hang in there. It will get better.

Depending on what time my 5 month old sleeps, she either wakes up twice or once in the night. I feed her and she goes back to sleep for good 3-4 hrs. So if she sleeps at 9 pm (and yes that’s the earliest she goes down for the night lol) then up around midnight and off to sleep till 4:06 am. Again a feed and goes to sleep until 8-9 am.

If she sleeps at 11-11:30 (embarrassed but yes that’s her routine time 😔) then up around 3:00 am and goes back to sleep until 7-7:30 am.

Good part is that I don’t have to rock her to sleep in the night. She goes back to sleep while feeding.

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.

Bedtime routine

I have a 12 week old and we struggle to get him to sleep in his next to me crib or Moses basket, so he sleeps in bed with us which means we’re struggling to have a bedtime routine as he won’t sleep till i go to bed with him.
Any suggestions please as he doesn’t sleep till around 11/12
