Hey! I’m getting the implant in my arm in 2 weeks and I’m quite nervous about it. Does anyone have it or has had it before? Any bad side affects? What was it like the first few weeks after getting it in?!

I’ve had it twice & had 2 completely different experiences with it. The first time I had no negative side effects, would only get my period once every 8-10 months. The second time, I got my period monthly, periods were more painful & going off it I had a horrible hormone detox but that could’ve also been because I had been on birth control for over 8 years by then. I truly think everyone’s body reacts differently but if I could get it again & it be like the first time, I would!

I’ve heard nothing but negative things about it

I’ve had it 3-4 times and plan to get it again when I have to go back on birth control and I’ve had different experiences each time but never any issues. It’s honestly my favorite method.

I had it for 2 years. Started getting sick and had to get it taken out. Many people I knew didn't like it because of side effects. Plus if you want children in the near future don't recommend just because it can take years for you to be able to have children after taking out. If you have heavy periods it can make it worse.

I had it for 2 years and I was basically on my period the entire 2 years. It made my emotions haywire. Tried to ride it out to "let it balance itself out" but that did not happen. If you had good experience w depo it may not be the best idea

I would not get it again is all imma say

I’ve had it two times and I got my second in me now my first time having it, I didn’t really have any side effects other than gaining weight but different people has different experiences. It’s not that bad, but when you get it, your arm is gonna be a little bit sore

I had an extreme bad reaction to the depo when I was 15 years old. So is it basically the same thing as the depo shot ?

@Katrina it's basically the opposite;
At least it was for me. I loved depo. Nexplanon did not work for me tho u may have better luck than I did because depo didn't work for you

I've used it and loved it. The second time I had it in longer than I should have so I bled for 8 weeks straight but other than that I had no issues

Your libio may take a hit like mine did
