Help! Diarrhoea/nappy rash in 9m old

Fourth day of diarrhoea in my 9m son; otherwise perfectly healthy no complaints

Trying to figure out what is causing the diarrhoea and how to help him

He has horrible diaper rash now and he screams every nappy change (about 6-7 diarrhoea poo a day) I am putting bepathen then sudocream on top of that and changing nappy very regularly.

He is still eating, drinking fine and playing normal and is not dehydrated.

Not teething related - he has 2 bottom teeth 🦷 top two show no signs of teething

How long is diarrhoea normal? Google has different timelines some say 2 days other places 2 weeks…

I am pregnant and still breastfeeding him. I was told maybe my milk could cause a slight laxative effect but only when it’s colostrum which doesn’t happen till later (I’m only 6w!). Thinking this is the cause have tried everything to try supplement with some formula which he won’t take at all!

Tried in a bottle, in a cup, a straw, tried 2 different types of formula, tried not being around when he takes it, tried different bottles and teats, tried using 3/4 breast milk and 1/4 formula, even tried making choccy milk (it tastes damn good!) and still won’t take it.resigned to the fact he will not accept formula but worried if he continues with the diarrhoea it’s going to be bad for his health. 😔

My little one (8.5 months old) is currently going through this. We’re 10 days into our journey 🫠. Recently took her to see GP and she’s been diagnosed with Gastroenteritis. Could have picked it up from anywhere as she puts everything in her mouth. In regards to rash, this is because the acid content in diarrhoea causing yeast infection. GP prescribed us an ointment and it’s gone down but still a little raw. There’s something def going around at the moment.

Could they have a dairy allergy and be reacting to the formula if they usually have breastmilk?

I found Metanium nappy rash ointment really good, it’s bright yellow and gets everywhere!! But when my baby has had signs of rash I’ve used this and it’s cleared it up x

he’s not really drinking enough to react at all; and he got the problem before formula was offered

thanks I’m using 3 different nappy rash creams and we are on day 5 of the problem 😔

Dummy

My baby has had a dummy since about 2 weeks old (now 5 months) and over the course of the last month we weaned her off it during the day only for naps and night (which was fine) and then 5 days took it completely away during the day.

The first day no dummy was fine, the second bit rougher. But now it feels impossible she just moans and cries all the time it takes ages for her to go down to sleep (she’s always been an amazing sleeper)

I thought it was meant to get better as time went on not worse. I’m at my wits end I dunno what to do.

Currently typing this as she screams uncontrollably in the car and I cry with her cos I can’t do anything.

Of these two, which seems more overall “demanding” to you, overall? Lighthearted poll, not putting anyone down 🫶🏼

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.

Is this normal?

My 12m old is really funny with kids going near him, he’s always been this way, but anytime family’s kids sit next to him or head his way he moans or cries and moves away. He also really observes them and is never really relaxed, always looking over his shoulder. Has anyone experienced this? (He’s starting nursery properly tomorrow so hoping this helps) but is this normal?

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!
