Tips for keeping reflux baby upright

My baby has reflux and I know it’s better to keep them upright for at least 20-30 minutes after. Usually we end up a little longer cause he’ll spit up when we put him down if we do. Most feeds are from the breast with one or two bottles of expressed milk a day.
Does anyone have some tips for ways to keep them upright that aren’t holding them directly? Don’t get me wrong I love holding my babe but when he’s feeding every 2-3 hours and feeds for 30 min to an hour then have to hold upright it doesn’t leave much time for getting anything done or myself to get a nap in. When my husband is home he helps with this time but finding it hard during the day.
Or if anyone has any general tips for reducing reflux. My babe is almost 3 weeks and due to a quick emergency delivery he was pretty much born with reflux from the mucus in his system still. He was also born at 36+2 so a late preterm baby. He’s only fussy usually at night and looks like it bothers him then but he will spit up immediately if laid on his back too soon after a feed all the time. They say can feed smaller amounts more often but then I don’t think I’d ever not be feeding or holding upright.

This was exactly the same for me and my little one is 5 month now, we’re still keeping him upright for 20 minutes after a feed but found he’s much better on his chest, the babocush baby bouncer is really good!

Nothing actually helped mine other than holding him upright myself. We’ve got the joie swing serena which can adjust a bit more upright but even then he threw up. He was like the exorcist throwing up shooting across the room with CMPA and reflux. He’s 3 months now and only thing that has helped has been carobel, since being on that he is hardly sick at all!!! He’s also on omeprazole for his discomfort which really helps him.

I’m sorry not much help but it seemed the only thing working for ours was the carobel to keep the milk in his tummy x

Feed him upright
Pace feeding
Half bottle burp then the other half burp some more

We used next to me crib and you can raise legs on one side - it is only the safest way of doing it and my HV approved when she saw it

My baby was late preterm and had reflux issues and we couldn’t put him down at all from quite early on. We held him up most of the time until week 10-12 weeks.

During day you can use baby carrier in the house so you can do some work and also have your hands free. It’s much better than holding if you get hang of it.

Lying on chest helps with reflux but doing so around 3 weeks can be bit risky as they don’t have neck control. If you happen to put them on front be mindful to watch them all the time to ensure they are breathing with head sideways.

Should I be concerned or am I overthinking?

My little boy is 15 months old, he’s recently taken his first steps and he says mamma and dadda and baba (he has said these for months) we’ve filled out the paperwork for his 12-14 month review and it looks like he isn’t meeting many of his milestones.

He doesn’t copy actions, point, clap etc. He doesn’t react when being spoken to, or to his name. He actively avoids eye contact.

He was so unresponsive to sound that we just had his hearing tested concerned he was deaf. They found that he could hear so he is just choosing not to react to any noises or sounds.

Has anyone else had similar experiences with their little ones? Should I be raising this with the health visitor and ask to be assessed for neurodivergent issue or a social communication problem like autism?

I don’t want to just slap a label on him, but I do feel that there are real concerns. All opinions welcome!!

Routines?

When did you start to introduce your baby’s routine? Do they just have a night routine or full day routine? Wondering when I should start this e.g naps at the same time everyday.

Any routines you have that work for you, please let me know them with timestamps. my baby is 6 weeks and just wondering when we should start them?

Does anyone else’s baby spit up breastmilk but not formula?

I’m seriously considering seeing a lactation consultant because I don’t understand why he can’t hold down breastmilk but can formula. I use soy formula since I’ve used it with my daughter and I’m thinking it might be due to not getting milk coming in for a few days so I had no choice but to give him formula, but now even if I take breaks in between feeding him breastmilk to burp or try to mix breastmilk and formula, he spits it up sooo much. I’m ready to just give him just formula because I’m worried about him not eating enough

Bed time tips for 8 week old

So I literally cannot get my 8 week down to sleep before 11:30pm every night no matter how early we start our routine. We tend to do bath every second night but every night consists of feed, up to bed, into pjs, book, feed to sleep. We could start this routine at 7 and it would still be the case of not selling til 11:30.

She doesn’t nap during the day well, we get a 30 minute in the morning, and a 1 hour in the afternoon only if I’m out the house. She’s never distressed when she’s awake all that time, quite the thing being nosey and having cuddles. She’s EBF and her feeds all through the day are LONG and last from 30-45 mins each feed.

Any tips/advice recommended on how to get to bed earlier or just how to get her to sleep in general.
