I'm at the hospital. 1cm dilated still I'm contracting but not in pattern. Just on and off live with paracetamol so I can cope with the pain. But I don't want the baby to come out just yet. She will be called preterm as I'm only 35+1 today. I'm scared as well. I'm scared to tell midwives that I'm having pains. I want to go home.

35 weeks or 34 weeks? I think listen to Drs advice dont push to go home! There no reason to be scared shes fully developed just a little early. Normally after 34 weeks they can breath on their own!

Now 35+1

dont worry you will be fine hun x

Better to get monitored you might dilate more!

I'm scared. I know I have to face this I thought contractions would be stopped. By now.

Will see

You can stay at 1cm for a long time, or it can progress and you can dilate more quickly and active labour starts- there’s not really a way to know apart from waiting to see what happens.
Are you on a monitor? If so, the midwives will see any tightenings/contractions that you’re having. If you aren’t, you do need to tell them so that they can monitor those and see what’s happening.
Also, very often they will send you home if you aren’t in active labour.
I had my son at 35+5, it’s scary because they aren’t full term, but baby will be fine. Try not to worry.

No they just asked if I'm getting any I said yes but after I took paracetamol it became can bear stage. Now it's backing off in pain again. They didn't monitor anything. I didn't say anything either

I’ve been 1cm dilated since 25 weeks and will be induced at 37 weeks as I’m not contracting but if you’re not happy make sure you voice your concerns don’t let them dictate xx

I literally don't know what to do anymore. I'm just trying to bear it so I can go home. After doctors come I will be asking for another cervix check if it's still 1cm I'm going home.

okay sure the thing is I'm contracting but not in pattern

until it’s in a pattern and you’re around 4/5cm they won’t class it as established labour usually. (This is the information I was previously given) but due to you been early they may not want to send you home xx

Mmmm

They didn't mention anything about stopping early labour. Should I ask that or is it me panicking

Just met with dr. Said I'm positive for preterm labour that's why they admit me and have pain but said I can go home if all looks by afternoon

Weeks

35+1

Hows things now?

things didn't progress I think labour has stopped on its own but I think I can't do that for long. But I'm still getting pain down there but it's not unbearable as yesterday so I will be going home to come back soon again. Staying in hospital without things progressing is boring and feeling like I'm just wasting the resources 😭

good luck x

I was 3 cm dilated at 33 weeks and not in labor
At 36 weeks I was 5 cm dilated and not in labor . You can stay dilated for a while

this is very untrue?

Do you get contractions or just dilate. How you know you are dilating.

they check you for dilation, there’s really no way to know for sure unless someone checks.
I started having Braxton Hicks contractions around 25 weeks with my first baby and at about 34 weeks with my second baby.
Contractions, can mean you’re dilating… but it’s also completely normal for people to get Braxton Hicks contractions AND dilate a little bit! It’s really hard to say if you’re going into active labor, that’s probably why they want to monitor you because they want to try and see if your body is going to continue to transition into the active labor stages or if it’s just going to sit where it’s at

Yes and the swab got positive for preterm labour that's why they took me in. But things didn't progress for me.

whats very untrue?
