Any feedback would help

I have my cerclage scheduled for next Wednesday, I’m 13 Weeks + 5 days, I’ve been feeling a bit anxious about the procedure, I know either way it’s what I have to do, but I’m wondering what I should expect? How bad will it hurt? I get a lot of pain in my pelvis daily already, and I’m wondering how well these things hold because I’ve heard about them coming undone too early

hey! i had my cerclage placed at like 16 weeks, im due to have it removed on the 16th at 36 weeks. to my knowledge, they typically do not put you to sleep for the procedure, i received an epidural to numb my body from the waste down. if needed, they can give you additional medicine to ease any pain--my anesthetist put me to sleep for the last 15-20 minutes or so of my procedure because i was in a bit of pain. just know you have options as far as pain management and you don't have to suffer through it! afterwards when the epidural wore off, it hurt some but once i got home it was fine as long as i maintained a good pain med schedule. and make sure you take your antibiotics! it's essentially like period pain, in my opinion. i was worried about it holding too, but it has not failed me yet lol so i wouldn't worry about it just be knowledgeable of the signs (any bleeding mainly). good luck i wish you all the best :)

I’ve had a preventative and emergency cerclage done. I have hypermobile Ehlers Danlos which causes my cervical insufficiency, and my tissue gave out well before the cerclage wanted to, only active labour did it. I held on by the cerclage only for about 6 weeks total with no measurable cervix length, through threatened labour at 26-27w and all. We made it to 31w and I have a healthy toddler, you’d never know. The day after my preventative cerclage, I walked over a mile with no issues. It was like a deep foreign menstrual cramp. I stayed at the hospital only an hour after I woke up. It’s very minor and very fast at this stage! Much easier and better success. Because of my chronic conditions, I had a lot of pain, but the cerclage didn’t cause me any issues until after 24 weeks when I funnelled and my baby started to literally kick it Don’t bother with sex even if they say it’s safe. It is not, it’ll feel like bee stings for your man, and it can trigger labour, take it from my dumbass
