I want to file for EBT because we need help. But in order for us to qualify it’s so unrealistic. My hubby doesn’t make much but because of the holidays, overtime and extra shifts that he picked up his check looks nice. But it still doesn’t cut it for us. According to EBT he makes too much because of his last check. What do we do? What can I do? ANY advice?

First off; are you both legally married? Are you working? Have you ever recieved assistance through HRA before?
Legally married. He is the only one working and I have WIC

Luckily WIC shouldn't negatively impact you. However being legally married is a problem. You would need for the household income to be under 25k$ a year, and most specifically under 1600 a month. Which is practically unlivable yeah but unfortunately that's the cut off for a married couple.

Apply as separated

Have him write you a letter of support

If you are legally married but separated, you may be able to apply for food stamps separately but you'd have to prove that the 2 of you have separate facilities to prepare and store food as if you were separated but legally married. Not to mention it's a hard to hide lie that you're married and you stand the chance of being caught qhich leads to you being banned from future federal aid for fraud and sometimes required to pay back what you've been given in some cases.

Well usually they ask for the last 2 checks or check up until a month. Maybe reapply after you have more checks from him.

Did being married affect you when applying for wic ?

Are you working ? If not, just apply for just you and your kids
being married did not affect me in applying for WIC, since at the time he wasn’t working
I’m not working , but just am legally married. 😭
