Postnatal care for you as a Mumma

Now.. before I get dragged into the massive hole of the internet… what are people doing for postnatal care of their down below?
Like peri bottles, ice maxs pads, cooling liners, perineal foam etc.
Got companies like Frida mom, lansinoh, home made or Amazon favs and I’m not sure what to get and what actually works.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated ❤️

I found my peri bottle a life saver. It’s great for relief but also just made me feel cleaner after the loo (I did have stitches)

I also used witch hazel liners and found as time went on and I got sore they provided a great comfort and cooling.

I didn’t use anything else I bought and I bought the full shabang from mouses, to ice pads etc etc xx

The brand I also found didn’t matter all very similar. Only thing I would say lansinoh breast pads are brilliant both disposable and re usable xx

thank you soooo much for the reply!
Awesome I’m definitely going to get a peri bottle and some hazelnut liners and some ice pack things but didn’t know if people tried better brands etc. I know I can be sucked into the hole of the internet!

I got a thing called “bottoms up” from boots for after my first and it was amazing. It’s got lavender and menthol in it so it took the pain away for a while. Used it every time I went to the loo x

With my first I had a vaginal delivery.
Things that I used last time that are my essentials this time are…
Peri bottle (any brand and was so thankful for this)
Spritz for bits (I loved the feeling and it offered me relief especially when in hospital)
Maternity pads - Boots own
Frida Disposable undies (these aren’t a necessity, just for convenience and I’m a bit lazy)

I bought loads of other things that I didn’t need last time so I’ve decided if I need anything else after birth… Amazon Prime exits. I bought loads of breast pads last time and BF for 1 year but never leaked so didn’t need them.

can you tell me more about the nipple shields?

I didn’t use any sprays or anything because I was lucky when I gave birth that I wasn’t in too much pain down there but omg I cannot recommend adult nappies enough

Literally best things ever. Ugly as hell but so useful. I would get a thick maxi pad and put it inside the adult nappy and that would do me all day (I’d change the maxi pad hourly)

Peri bottle, frida mom cooling pads, frida mom witch hazel, my expert midwife spritz for bits, frida mom underwear. I brought all this but ended up not using it due to emergency c section with my first but attempting a VBAC with this baby so I’ve got bits for vaginal and c section recovery to cover my bases. Also, I’ve got a donut ring this time - I was in hospital for 6 days with my first and my butt was killing from those hospital beds! Midwife suggested to bring a donut ring next time!

If breastfeeding, silver nipple shields, nipple cream, breast pads, I have both reusable and disposable (disposable for hosp). Xx

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

When did you circumcise your baby?
If you DID NOT or DO NOT have a circumcised son DO NOT comment this post is not for you!

Did you wait a certain amount of time or have it done immediately?
Again respectfully, this is only for the parents who choose to do so.
opinions about how not necessary it is will not be appropriate for this post. Thank you in advance. 🩵
