Low Amniotic fluid

I have been told this since my 20 weeks scan and had scan every 2 weeks since. I’m now 33+2 and they are still telling me my baby small. He’s on the 8th centile.
I have a scan next week to confirm whether I will be having him at 37 weeks or not.
I am only a first time mum but I am not worried at all. X

With my first I was told I had low amniotic fluid at 39 weeks and was induced within the next few days. I managed to avoid medical intervention and just had my waters broken in the end. Hope you don't need to be induced early x

oh really yeah lucky been ok up until now. Does the growth slowing down affect the baby much they didn’t really say I guess I’m worried about that the most. Early delivery not ideal but if it needs to be done then that’s something I can deal with. X

yeah I was hoping to give birth naturally rather than be induced especially this early but I guess they will try hold off until a bit later on anyway. Fingers crossed the scan is ok and I don’t need to be x

So this has happened to me (except the low amniotic fluid bit). I now have a consistent midwife each appointment who is great, and she has told me scans can be off by 15/20% and even measured slightly differently depending on the sonographer. So I kicked off and said I want the same sonographer for the next few appointments.

My placenta is performing fine, blood flow is good, baby looks healthy otherwise.

We have a suspicion the slight drop being marked on my sheet is human error or the expected margin of error.

I don't want to be scare mongered into an induction if that's the case, as I'd rather baby grow and develop naturally as she needs to in my tummy for as long as she needs! I've had friends feared into inductions because their 'baby is too large' only to be born a perfect size so know accuracy of scans can be a bit funny.

Priority for me is risks and health of baby. Each appointment I tell them to focus on this.

I've consented to additional scans, Monday I have another fluid and placenta check and the following week another growth.

yeah the registrar did say it could be human error I got told on a previous scan that her stomach was bigger and sent for diabetes test which I haven’t had yet but this one didn’t say that and she said she thinks it’s unlikely I have that and they were being over cautious. So could be an error again this time.

I am the same don’t want to be scared into induction I’ll see what next scan says but may ask for same sonographer for additional measurements so it’s at least more consistent.

37 weeks is full term so your baby is fully developed. Growth scan are not always accurate. I haven’t been told that it will affect the baby delivering early.
My baby has to have a few extra tests when he’s born as he has a echogenic bowel x
