First time mom here. My 7 week old always wants to be held during the day. The moment I put him down to even pee he’s crying. I try to hold him but feel like I can’t get anything done. Am I doing something wrong for holding him all day?
At night I’ll get him to sleep by rocking and put him in the bassinet but he’ll wake up 5-20 mins later and keep crying until I hold him to sleep. At that point I’ll just sleep with him on my chest :/

My baby girl has just started doing this and she’s 6 weeks old. I found out that if I put my blanket or something that smells like me or daddy on her like his hoodie, she falls right asleep. She cries just for a second until I put the blanket or hoodie on her and give her her bottle or passy in her swing or rocker. I can only get her to sleep in her swing now :(

Wanting to be held all the time is totally normal, you’re not doing anything wrong. My littlest is about 7 weeks too, she’s my 4th, and she’s the same way. Do you have a carrier? I know it’s tough, he just loves you and has no idea he’s even his own person. Wish I could help more, you’re not doing anything wrong and it will get better.

Definitely normal! Try getting a sleep sack I bought a halo one when my daughter was a newborn and it was amazing also playing white noise helps a lot too 😊

My baby girl did the same thing. I literally couldn’t do anything for the first 6 weeks. I don’t know what happened but all of a sudden she became fine with being put down by me. What I would do when it got to be a lot, I would have my husband take her from me because she was fine with him putting her down. Just give it time, he will grow out of it.

yes! Dreamland and Kyte are great too

Mine 7 week old is doing this too. I wrap her to me. Like a moby wrap, but i bought fabric myself instead of paying $50 for a cloth

yes those are also great options!

I’ll look into a sleep sack. He’s starting to break out of swaddles when I do them

Mine jsut started doing this ….

Yeah since like the second week lol but she’s 8 weeks now and recently she’s been ok with being left alone for a few mins

Exact same situation here and she is 4 weeks! It’s soo draining but taking it one day at a time

My baby boy is 7 weeks also and does the same.

It’s super normal, I had my newborn in wrapped on my chest around the house. And at night was tough but I found a swaddle called LovetoDream and it hugs baby’s stomach just right and he was able to sleep longer at night. It gets better but be consistent on crib training if that’s what you prefer. As soon as baby falls asleep on you wait at least another 10-15 minutes and then lay them down but keep baby close to your chest when laying them down and butt to crib first then head. Eventually baby will feel safe in their crib.

my baby girl is 8 weeks now and I think she went through a phase because she’s getting a little better now
