Baby sleep.. šŸ‘ŽšŸ¼

Pretty frustrated mama here. My baby was doing fine with sleep until she turned 6 weeks. She used to sleep in her crib but one day started immediately waking up the second I put her down after I rock her to sleep in my arms. Then if she does end up sleeping in there, let’s say with a paci, the moment it falls she wakes up. Okay, then let’s say I stay with her and put it back each time and finally after so long she falls asleep, she only sleeps for 30 mins… I’ve currently put back her pacifier for almost 30 mins right now and I am getting so tired.

She fights her sleep all day long, it’s like all I’m doing day in and day out is put her to sleep. By nighttime I am so frustrated by this process that I’ve started breastfeeding her laying in my bed and keeping her there. I sleep in the guest bed or couch because she’s also the noisiest sleeper. I don’t know how sustainable this solution is. I don’t know when it’s supposed to get better. I seriously can’t stand night times anymore. I miss my sleep so bad 😭😭😭

I understand that it’s hard; however, if you’re going to co-sleep, absolutely do not do it on the couch. Way more babies die from sleeping on couches than they do on beds.

Is your spouse helping with any of the night feeding? Or do you have family that can help? You need to get at least a four hour stretch.

is it okay to sleep for four hours straight if you're exclusively breastfeeding? I thought we had to either nurse or pump every two hours even at night? So I've been only getting like an hour of sleep at a time for a total of 2-3 nonconsecutive hours at night pretty much

I meant it as I sleep on the couch alone away from my baby because I can’t sleep near her 🄲 her active sleep keeps me up and I’m an extremely light sleeper. Since I EBF I haven’t been able to get any help during the nights.

getting four hours is what keeps you as a safe caretaker.

My supply is established, so I sleep four hours and don’t wake my baby if she sleeps through the four hour window. Once it’s daytime she eats every 2-3 hours.

I would recommend pumping so that you have some breast milk available for your husband to help you. It’s important that you both get four hours of uninterrupted sleep in a twenty four hour period, that means that you need to switch off and take turns if you baby isn’t sleeping a four hour stretch yet.

I use the momcozy pump on the side i’m not feeding her on, which may be covered by your insurance. the doctor browns bottle with the pink insert is a great bottle to introduce that won’t disturb your breastfeeding . the bottle is designed to help! as my baby is getting bigger you can go up a insert color. you should look into it.

Baby’s have to learn to put themselves to sleep. We used Taking Cara Babies newborn course to learn sleep principles. Co-sleeping is often not necessary when babies learn how to put themselves to sleep over time. We started with putting her down drowsy, but awake, for 1 nap a day. It was hard at first but there were tricks via our sleeping course that we learned how to help her self soothe. Now we put her down awake for every single sleep and she puts herself to sleep. Cannot recommend this course enough!

six week old baby is too young to self soothe or even establish a sleep schedule unfortunately.

When my LO struggles to sleep, we double-check our baby checklist (hungry, diaper, too hot/cold, etc.) and set a timer for 10 minutes. We then see if she can self soothe or fall asleep on her own. She will sometimes suck on her fingers or fist to fall asleep. If she is still crying the. We pick her up, go through the checklist again, rock her for a bit, and do it again. She just turned 2 months and is able to self soothe (to a degree) when waking and sleeping!

mine doesn’t cry but she wakes herself up and stays up and starts looking around and playing instead of sleeping šŸ˜… like girl go to sleep! There’s nothing I can do at that point šŸ˜‚

self soothe was the wrong choice of words! Sorry! Meant that the sleeping course teaches you principles to help babies fall asleep on their own without rocking to sleep. You still intervene - no ā€˜cry it out’ method involved…but you help them drift off to sleep on their own. Can’t recommend the course enough!

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong šŸ¤”. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.
