We're currently in the middle of a sleep regression (🙃) and think my LB wants to drop a nap. He's always had fairly long wake windows (around 4 hours for 2 naps), so now I'm trying to figure out how his sleep routine should be.
I did set an alarm for 7am for a while but haven't bothered the past week and a half because he's wanted to get up around 6ish some mornings (or I can sometimes get him down for longer if I hold him - totally unsustainable! 😅) He seems to want his morning nap still 4-5 hours after he wakes up which is only usually an hour, but then stretching until bedtime between 7pm-8pm (which used to be an hour later on 2 naps) isn't realistic as he's just so tired. I'm already intending to move dinner forward from 6pm to 5pm too 🤔
Sorry for rambling on. I suppose I just want to know what everyone else's situation is! 😅

We’ve just started nursery - so those days are wildly different, but on a day we’re at home LB is up at 7:30, nap at 1pm for 2hours and bed at 7:30. You can always try it! I was so apprehensive to change anything and then I spent a month ish experimenting with naps. So far this works, remember you can always limit that morning nap, the aim is to make it shorter and shorter to eventually phase it out. We had a couple of weeks where some days it was one nap, some days it was two. Other days we had earlier bedtimes if we hadn’t got it quite right. Good luck xx
That sounds like an ideal scenario for us! I just wish he would nap longer 😅 Like he's just woken from a nap that was between 12.10-12.50pm (we still often nurse to sleep and always contact nap) and it's just hard trying to get him to go for longer than that. Do you think I should've cut it short and then tried getting him down later for a power nap sometime? I know it's going to be trial and error for a while but I feel like I'm always making the wrong judgements 😂😭

Contact naps are hard! Lovely but hard. If it was me I’d try pushing that nap later by 15/20mins for a few days, see if he sleeps a bit longer. The lifesaver for us, was on bad nap days, so short napping, we brought bedtime 30mins earlier. It sounds so simple but it’s amazing what a difference it made! I’m happy to chat anytime you feel like sleep is going awry. When we started nursery they complimented how well he slept! But it took patience 😅 xx

We are slowly going to move to 1 nap soon I think as his wake windows are quite long. He isn't ready quite yet though so this is what we are doing for now:
Wake 6.30 (sometimes a bit before or after but always before 6.45)
Nap 10ish for 30mins to an hour
Nap 2.30/3ish for 30 mins to an hour. If his first nap was short we do this nap earlier and try and make it an hour. If his first nap was an hour he tends to only do 30 mins for 2nd nap or ill wake him at 3.30
Bed 7.45
When we move to one nap I'll just push his morning one back gradually till its around 12 ish. Hoping he'll do longer than an hour if he's awake longer beforehand. This is what time he will nap at nursery too. If he doesn't nap for long ill try and do a quick catnap later on but know I'd need to wake him after only 10-15mins and he would be tricky to get to sleep for that. If no catnap then bed 30 mins earlier as above
