Mommas that have done both exclusively breast feeding and formula/bottle feeding did you notice your baby slept longer through the night one way or another?

100% when I BF at night my LG woke every 1-2 hours... I moved to formula for night feeds and she now either goes all night or wakes up once for a feed, depending on how much she has during the day. She is now combi fed breaat milk & formula.

when did u introduce her to formula and how did u get her to accept it? In the same boat with exclusively BF baby waking every hour and she’s 7 months old but she’s been doing this forever lol

@Sal oh its so tough! Does she have any bottles? If not I'd recommend expressing and feeding her bottles of milk 1st for her to get used to bottles and then slowly introduce the formula. Maybe start with 1 during the day to see how she gets on. I started to top her up with formula in the early weeks as I felt she was still hungry(she kept falling alseep on the boob)... it was all a little trial and error, for weeks I was pumping 2/3 times during the night to give her "night milk" but once I introduced formula at bedtimes she settled much more! I found my LG was using me as a dummy / for comfort instead of taking sufficient milk.

I tried the MAM bottle but this was weeks ago and she had max an ounce of expressed milk and wouldn’t drink more, demanding for the boob! Lol iv been trying so hard to ride through the night struggles but it’s 7 months in and nothing is changing, she’s using me as a dummy too and literally on it within every single hour at night, soooo mentally draining now and willing to do anything to make her sleep more and give me a break 😞

Which formula do u recommend and did she not refuse the taste of any?

@Sal I never tried the MAM bottles. I had the Tomee Tippee anti colic ones, and she has got on really well with them. We have tried so many fornulas but have settled on Apatamil Advance. This one is suitable for combi feeding. I think the others were a bit too thick for her with BF on top. She pulled faces at first but would still take a bottle. I have heard of other mums mixing expressed milk with formula more breat milk than formula to start with, then slowly change percentages, that could help.

okay I will try thank you so much 👍🏽
