I’m in the same boat. It like my son has FOMO lol he does not want to sleep even if he is exhausted…

Mine will suddenly only nap longer than 30 mins if he's being held the whole time

same here. It’s a struggle lol. I’m trying to get him in his crib but mom guilt is getting the best of me cuz I want him to sleep well.

We strictly contact nap. It’s the only way unfortunately.

Me too! We were in the thirty min range then he started doing 90 min and 2.5 hrs every day for a couple weeks and I thought we were turning a corner… and now he’s back to 30 min naps. 😵💫

@Codi he was doing 40 mins at least and then possibly twice in if I went back in and gave him the paci in his crib even going down awake but drowsy but suddenly he won't sleep in it longer than 10 minutes if he doesn't wake up and freak out immediately

And I caved and held him for three hours yesterday because I needed him to get caught up on sleep

Struggling 🥲 he naps great in my arms. Horrible when he’s in his crib

I do this way too often lol

I thought he was just being fussy cause he got a vaccine in Friday but were on day 3 of fighting the naps unless being held

My husband and I have a pretty solid schedule we live our lives by as she seems happier… it’s inconvenient at times but this is a season and will be over before we know it.
She’s 4.5 months old and is awake 2-2.25 hours at a time (we follow awake windows) and then naps 3-4 times a day (exclusively contact nap and usually 3 times a day if she wakes around 7). We try to have her sleep until 7 and the goes to bed around 8. I do breastfeed and feed to sleep most of the time but it works. She sleeps through the night 90% of the time. It used to be hard getting her down for a nap but I only spent 10 minutes trying to do so if needed but no more because I take it that she isn’t ready to nap at the point and I don’t fight her. We do cap naps and I feel like that’s been key. 3.5-4.5 hours of sleep during the day with the last nap the shortest.
Not sure if this will help anyone but it’s worked for us! We just have the joy of slowly transitioning to crib for naps over the next month…

@Amber Drawbaugh I've avoided contact Naps and he's slept in either his crib our bed or bassinet for all his naps since he was a couple weeks old but these last few days he's refusing all but a contact nap

ive heard sometimes around 4 months, especially if your baby experiences a “progression” than they may get clingier and prefer contact naps. We hit that at 6 weeks and have been surviving since. I’m hopeful that at 5 months things take a turn for the better as naps may start to be easier for them

We hit a few regression earlier too which is why we changed where he napped to whatever was working for him but it's hard cause you hear horror stories about them getting used to bring Rocked or nursed to sleep and not being able to self soothe blah blah blah lol

that’s gotten to me before too and I’m starting to think it’s crap to some degree, mostly because a couple weeks ago our daughter woke up in the middle of the night and somehow put herself back to sleep. And we feed to sleep or rock her to sleep for every nap and for bedtime. We thought it was a fluke, but she’s been able to do it multiple times now and we try to practice giving her the space to do that. If she can’t do, that usually means she needs something like food or diaper change. Most night she’s able to put herself back to sleep if she wakes with no crying and she doesn’t take a pacifier. I think do what is going to work best for you and your family now and if it helps try to remember that probably a lot of fears we all have we won’t even remember when once they’re a year old.

My daughter takes four 30-40 minute naps a day. Usually at 10am, 12:30/1, 3pm, and 5:30pm. They’re short but she’s consistent so we’ve been able to be on some sort of “schedule” for now. I’m sure it’ll change soon 😅

Mine sleeps after he eats lol
