I work full time (Monday-Friday 8-4.30)
My husband works full time hours but over 4 days (mon, wed, Thurs and Fri 9-7.30)
So, our 2 year old daughter spends Monday and Wednesday with my Mum, Tuesday with my husband and nursery on Thursday and Friday.
I have got SERIOUS mum guilt going on. It makes me so upset I want to cry.
My mum took her to her first dance class today and just kept saying how it reminded her of when I used to go and how it was such a lovely experience. I just wanted her to stop talking because I kept thinking how I'm never going to experience stuff like that with her because I can't afford to not work?
I even sat and tried to work out the finances to see if I could go part time but it's just not feesable.
How does everyone else deal with this?
I just feel I miss out on so much

Could you do what your husband does and compress your hours into 4 days?
But also dropping a day you don’t actually loose too much after tax and NI etc…

100% I feel you. Though its not so much guilt, just sadness that I don’t get to hang with my 2 year old and experience everything. I work full time as the sole earner and my husband is a stay at home dad (I earn much more so makes more sense for me to work). With the crazy cost of living I can’t go to 4 days. Maybe if my husband got a 1 day a week job, but the logistics of that is pretty impossible.
