6 month old waking 5/6 times a night

My EBF 6-month old little girl is still waking every 2 hours at night. Each time I am feeding her back to sleep. She does seem to feed for on average 5 mins each time and initially did think she was hungry but at 6 months I did not anticipate she would need feeding quite so regularly and hence I’m questioning whether it’s more of a comfort thing. I’m considering not feeding her every other time she wakes and instead for either myself or my partner to settle her back to sleep again. Has anyone else had a similar experience and this has worked successfully??

My son is 8 months and we have the same issue. Before Xmas I was reducing feeds at night and he was eating much better in the day time. He also started doing long stretches in the night but Xmas and being away from routine messed up the progress and I’m back at square one again. Going to commit to reducing the feeds again (frequency and length of time i feed for).

My 9 month old little guy did that from 4-6 months. I found he would eat 5-8 minutes and fall asleep, but then wake every two hours! It helped to let him eat 5-8 minutes then wake him up with a diaper change. Then he would nurse another 5-8 minutes on the other side. That got him to sleep about 4 hour stretches. I also found it helpful to offer higher fat content purées/solids before bedtime. We started that at 6 months and he now only wakes once a night. Occasionally he even sleeps through the night. Hang in there! I know the lack of sleep is brutal!

I tried that for like 2 days when my daughter was 1 and went back to the feeding to sleep for every wake as it was definitely quicker than rocking or anything! 😂 We also started cosleeping at 8 months old and that was a lifesaver. I think generally some babies just wake more easily (and 6 months is pretty young still) so with all the growing, weaning, teething, learning to crawl/walk they just wake no matter what you do!

Baby clothes

Just out of curiosity, why do parents love zipper onesies?

Don’t get me wrong, I tried zipper ones it’s easy to zip in and out when putting it on the first time and taking it out, but I find it difficult when changing diapers especially when baby is asleep.

I prefer those kimono style buttons where it’s easy to button or too down button with crotch snaps.

Is everyone thinking the same or different? Lol

Dummy

My baby has had a dummy since about 2 weeks old (now 5 months) and over the course of the last month we weaned her off it during the day only for naps and night (which was fine) and then 5 days took it completely away during the day.

The first day no dummy was fine, the second bit rougher. But now it feels impossible she just moans and cries all the time it takes ages for her to go down to sleep (she’s always been an amazing sleeper)

I thought it was meant to get better as time went on not worse. I’m at my wits end I dunno what to do.

Currently typing this as she screams uncontrollably in the car and I cry with her cos I can’t do anything.

Of these two, which seems more overall “demanding” to you, overall? Lighthearted poll, not putting anyone down 🫶🏼

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.

Is this normal?

My 12m old is really funny with kids going near him, he’s always been this way, but anytime family’s kids sit next to him or head his way he moans or cries and moves away. He also really observes them and is never really relaxed, always looking over his shoulder. Has anyone experienced this? (He’s starting nursery properly tomorrow so hoping this helps) but is this normal?

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅
