How’s my breastfeeding mamma’s doing? At the beginning of my breastfeeding journey my daughter Reia ended up putting 4 holes YES 4 holes in my left nipple lol (I didn’t latch her properly) anyway the pain was absolutley unbearable ended up having to feed her on my right side and pump on my left for a while until it healed what an experience🤦🏻♀️🤣 what’s everyone else’s experiences been like ??

Holes?!
For us supply and feeding have gone really well but I really underestimated the mental strain it was going to put on me. I can’t remember the last time I got more than 3 hours sleep in one go or how much that I’d resent my husband for just being a man and being able to sleep.
Although now we’re starting to teeth my nipples are very sore and bruised all the time😭

Very similar to ! I feel lucky to still be going but I’m so tired from the night feeds and having to essentially plan my life around feeds like timing car journeys and cooking etc. because it’s not like someone else can do it!
Since about 4 weeks I’ve expressed a bottle a day so my partner feeds baby at around 11/12 at night so I can get some sleep but even then it means I’m having to go to bed at 9 to make it worth it, sacrificing time with him.
Have definitely considered stopping but know it’s best for her and I’m not in any pain, it’s just so much more inconvenient than I thought it would be!

I’m asleep by 9 and we aren’t expressing, thankfully my husband likes to go to bed early too🤣. My LG hates a bottle so I gave up expressing pretty early as it was way too hard getting the pumping in as well

I gave up pumping ages ago too but considering starting again to rebuild my freezer stash as it all got used while we moved house 😭 I just use a haakaa on the other side each time I feed and by the end of the day there’s just enough for one bottle

Difficult start due to tongue tie but once that was sorted it got a lot better, although she goes through phases of not latching properly so still a little painful at times.
Similar to Nadiya I also underestimated the mental strain, it’s exhausting.
My baby won’t take a bottle at the moment so it is all on me.

had a tongue tie in beginning that reattached so had to be cut twice. during that we had thrush too which was excruciating (we were on a lot of antibiotics after birth). was very lucky that her tongue tie didn’t impact her weight gain because my supply was good with a fast let down.
its so exhausting though shes waking for feeds every 2 hours and we’ve had to colseep a lot. i’ve started a sleep training method that is getting her to fall asleep by herself in her cot which worked last night but still awake every 2 hours!
i also feel like i’m not agile at it i see mums breastfeeding standing up while i still use my nursing pillow for most feeds! similar to she goes through phases of having a bad latch so can still be sore - perhaps something to do with the tongue tie!

I expressed as cldnt get a latch no matter what managed to express enuf for feeds for abt 9 wks then my supply wasnt enuf to feed baby and soon after my supply dried up think it was due to the stress of moving and not having enuf time to move packnunpack ect and pump and feed. Milk seems to have started to come back not enuf for a feed in one pump and not sure if its worth trying to increase pumping to find out or not. Anyone else had simila? Please help

literally holes lol don’t know how she managed but she did ahahah and I’ve started being like that lately resenting my partner for no reason him breathing is bugging me at min! Not excited for the teeth 🤦🏻♀️

how olds he little one? I’ve always been ok with night feeds because I’ve always been kind of a night owl myself so that’s never really been an issue for me but my daughter is very fussy getting to sleep but once she’s asleep she only wakes up twice through night now, I’ve been pumping for a while tried letting my partner bottle feed her at around 1/2 months n she was having non of it just screamed the place down tried a couple more times n unfortunately for my partner it’s just not for her so I’ve been putting some milk in the freezer for when I start weaning she’s 5 months in a week! My main problem with breastfeeding was the pain at first! It’s a tough journey but u got this mamma!

I struggle with trying to fit a pumping session in too! Managed to squeeze a few in just to have a freezer stash lol

sorry to hear the struggles at the beginning but I completely get it, I tried for ages to get the latch right on my left side n just couldn’t crack it so I was in so much pain for weeks felt like it was never ending, my daughter hates bottles too! We’ve got this mamma!!

how olds ur little one? Mines 5 months next week and I’ve only just started kind of walking round while feeding her (for a short amount of time) if I need to but still I usually just stay sat because it’s so much easier n it’s a lot of back pain standing or walking round while feeding! My little one usually goes 4 hours now but it takes some serious effort to try get her to sleep in the first place that’s the part I struggle with because she’s sooooo fussy! & it might have something to do with the tongue tie or I’d say it’s just normal because I’ve kind of got the hang of breastfeeding now but still sometimes she doesn’t latch properly n it’s painful for a couple of days! Ur doing amazing keep it up!

when I panicked thinking I wasn’t getting enough milk supply I googled everything n watched loads of tiktoks n stuff about it all n I came across a video n it’s something called power pumping that gives you more milk supply I’ve been doing it every couple of days and I think it’s made a difference in my milk supply, so before u totally give up please look into ‘power pumping’ it might not work for everyone but it’s worth a try!

she turns 5 months on Saturday - don’t know where the time goes! She’s been incredibly fussy if she’s put down without a feed but I’m putting that down to the sleep regression as that’s only been an issue the past few weeks! Have you tried different bottles/teats? One of my closest friends is a breastfeeding consultant and recommended the lansinoh bottles and we’ve never had an issue xx
