Not sleeping

Has anyone done sleep training? has it been successful? I hate the thought of letting my little girls cry but i'm at the point where i have tried everything and she just will not sleep unless she's on me. She will lay in her cot and scream and arch her back. It breaks my heart to do it but will it be better in the long run? I'm running on 3 hours sleep per night i'm exhausted.

Have a look at Just Chill Mama on Instagram. We’ve just done her 6-9 month course and you don’t leave them unless they’re calm or asleep. You have to persevere as the first few nights are rough until baby learns self settling but we are deffo seeing a difference. It’s just a shame he is teething and possibly regression at the moment as he would be perfect if it wasn’t for that x

Honestly have no advice but just to say I'm right there with you. I'm really considering sleep training too with the ferber method but there are such mixed studies about it I'm so torn 😭

We sleep trained our LO at 6 months using the Ferber method and he slept through from the first night. I followed a book called the sensational baby sleep plan. It was hard at first but after 4/5 days he wasn’t crying anymore. Now he will happily be put in his cot for naps and bedtime and chat away or play with teddies until he falls asleep. I would recommend 👌🏼

Yes, using the Ferber method to break a feed-to-sleep habit. It worked very quickly with decreasing amounts of crying at the start of each night for the week following. It was hard at first for sure but with mine at least I could tell it was just an angry cry rather than fearful/pain. It's not for everyone, I appreciate but we are both much better rested now. I know alot of people who have used the Ferber method and all successful.

Baby clothes

Just out of curiosity, why do parents love zipper onesies?

Don’t get me wrong, I tried zipper ones it’s easy to zip in and out when putting it on the first time and taking it out, but I find it difficult when changing diapers especially when baby is asleep.

I prefer those kimono style buttons where it’s easy to button or too down button with crotch snaps.

Is everyone thinking the same or different? Lol

My LO every feed. Drs don’t seem to think it’s a problem the whole Muslim cloth gets soaked so much I’m using towels now. I’ve tried size O teats he gets really frustrated and still spills it out :(

Dummy

My baby has had a dummy since about 2 weeks old (now 5 months) and over the course of the last month we weaned her off it during the day only for naps and night (which was fine) and then 5 days took it completely away during the day.

The first day no dummy was fine, the second bit rougher. But now it feels impossible she just moans and cries all the time it takes ages for her to go down to sleep (she’s always been an amazing sleeper)

I thought it was meant to get better as time went on not worse. I’m at my wits end I dunno what to do.

Currently typing this as she screams uncontrollably in the car and I cry with her cos I can’t do anything.

Of these two, which seems more overall “demanding” to you, overall? Lighthearted poll, not putting anyone down 🫶🏼

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.

Is this normal?

My 12m old is really funny with kids going near him, he’s always been this way, but anytime family’s kids sit next to him or head his way he moans or cries and moves away. He also really observes them and is never really relaxed, always looking over his shoulder. Has anyone experienced this? (He’s starting nursery properly tomorrow so hoping this helps) but is this normal?

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅
