Sex after birth

Has anyone had sex yet? Did you have pain? It’s been 7 weeks since I had my baby. The doctor cleared me last week but I am sooooo nervous 😅 my husband is very understanding but I want to do it soon to feel more connected with my husband again. I’m just nervous for pain or that I’m going to pee 😂😅

My daughter 10 weeks and 4 days and it’s barely starting not to be sore.

Lube lube lube! Take it super slow.

I did at 6.5 weeks pp. Like Brooke said, definitely use lube and take it slow. I wouldn't say it hurt but the area was tender at first. I had to ease into it.

We had sex as soon as I was cleared.

My husband and i have had sex a few times but its been hurting and ive been bleeding every time like when we first got together im 10 weeks 3 days pp

I waited until 8 weeks postpartum. It was very painful, like I almost cried. Even though we were so careful, I was in pain the entire next day lol. And and I bled a little but it stopped. We did it again a week later and it was much less painful, and somewhat enjoyable.

Take it slow, lube up, don't push yourself to enjoy it. Just appreciate being close, communicate if you are in pain. It will feel good again soon, if it doesn't right now. Don't put any big expectations on it.

That shit hurts! But after like the 4th or 5th time it starts to feel better again! It does feel uncomfortable and dry in the beginning 😩

It didn’t hurt at all for me and felt soooo good lol

Lube use lube. For me the discomfort was because even though I was turned on I was dry so that made things really uncomfortable.

For me, the initial penetration was like loosing my virginity again but as we continued, it was amazing. Butttttttt… keep that peri bottle for when you gotta pee after lol

I had sex at 4 weeks pp (cleared by my doctor) and didn’t hurt at all but I also didn’t tear and after about 4 days of giving birth didn’t even feel like I pushed a baby out

I started having sex again at 4 weeks postpartum. We used a lot of lube and really eased into it. I never had any pain, just some positions were more uncomfortable than others. But everyone is different!

Anxiety

I feel like such a shit person, I had my baby last week after a fairly traumatic birth - I’m so in love with him but also I’ve been feeling really down and irritable since we’ve been home. My partners so supportive which makes me feel worse! We’ve had endless visitors and tomorrow my partners sisters coming down from a few hours away for the day she’s really full on at the best of times and obviously she’s going to be so excited to meet him etc and will love him - I’m just struggling with people having him etc at the moment and I feel terrible for it! I’m so overwhelmed I’m freaking out about them coming here and just taking over with him 😢 has anyone else been feeling like this? Am I being awful 🥺

Bad behaviors

Incog so I’m not exposing my 3.5 yr old. She’s not really bad - it’s just everything she does pisses me off. How do you all deal?

Ex; Hates daddy and wants to do everything with mommy. Won’t even let him take her out of the car seat.

Ex; I said no to a lollipop on the way to daycare. She was screaming, crying, and kicking the back of my chair.

Ex; Time to eat breakfast? Time to brush teeth? Time to pee? Time to dress? Time to sleep? Won’t budge.

Ex; Pushes and sometimes hits her little sister mostly over playtime.

In general, she does everything I tell her not to do and does everything she’s not supposed to do. I’m losing it.

Also, her “hating” daddy is a problem. She will sometimes hit or scratch him.

What do I do OMG.

How's your sleep?

I have a breastfed 5 week old who I co-sleep with. Please be real with me about how your baby is sleeping right now?

We have good nights and bad nights. On the good nights he wakes up around 12am, 3am and 6am and then we can sleep in until around 8am. On the bad nights, he wakes up at all these hours and in between, often crying inconsolably. Feeding doesn't settle him or put him back to sleep, he just seems uncomfortable and spits up a lot.

Last night I gave up at 4am and watch TV in the lounge with him instead and he was much calmed once we left the bedroom.

I can cope with the lack of sleep but I get so overwhelmed by the crying where nothing I do seems to help him. I have to remind myself that this won't last forever but I feel right in the thick of it right now.
