My toddler has completely changed from when he was a baby. He was the easiest baby ever, slept through from 3 months and ate well after weaning.
He's the complete opposite now and I'm starting to really struggle with things looking after him.
He doesn't sleep. He's dropped the nap and will happily be awake for over 12 hours with no signs of slowing down or being tired. In the last 2 months he's only slept through 6 nights. He'll wake up and be awake for hours on end sometimes, talking gibberish at me or demanding cocomelon.
He won't eat meals at all and is existing primarily on cereal and snacks of cucumber.
His meltdowns are getting worse - and it will be over the most stupid things like not getting to turn the light off at bedtime or if the wrong person walks up the stairs before him.
Sometimes he'll play nicely but most of the day he either wants to be in the garden (regardles of weather) or watching TV.
I don't really know what the point of this post is, but all of the other mums round me seem to have much easier kids and I'm really struggling. All I ever wanted was to be a mum but I just feel like I've failed.

This sounds tough. I just wanted to say that you aren't alone. We've noticed a bit of a shift since our little boy turned two. I think at this age they are testing boundaries, expressing themselves and having big feelings. I do find meltdowns/ tantrums tricky but I try to take a deep breath and attempt to see it from his perspective too - maybe being the one to turn the light off is a big deal to them. Not wanting meals is also something we are experiencing - would much rather snack (but then eats well at nursery). I do worry about this and feel like I'm failing him but then I see lots of posts saying similar so it seems common at this age. All parents go through tricky times even tho they may not share that or it would seem that way from the outside - no ones life is perfect tho. Take care x

I can understand how u feel. Felt like a failure this morning as my LG was so upset and wouldn't eat anything for breakfast before nursery. This morning I just felt so worried about her as as has constipation on and off and tend to blame myself. You're not a failure. Being a mum is so hard. We can only do our best.

I'm experiencing this at the moment. She's refusing breakfast for last 2 days and very very upset over little things. She had an awful tantrum last night. This is so tough as I hate seeing her like this but hoping it'll pass soon š

U can message me if you want. I can understand how hard it is and Ive been feeling overwhelmed a lot lately
