My little boy breastfeeds every hour even on normal days, but the last couple of nights in the hours before bed he's been more unsettled and eaten even more frequently (around every 30 mins for 3 hours or so). He's 9 weeks on Wednesday.
After this tonight he's slept for 5 hours, then I've gone to feed him and he's vomited a large amount up.
Should I not have fed on demand last night and e.g. given dummy instead?

You should feed on demand. Spit up is normal

What's classed as spit up vs. vomit? He brought up a lot, my clothes etc were soaked

My LO is 6 weeks and she is the same will demand so close to her last feed that she will spew it up eventually like she did last night!
Spit up is so much less than something you would class as vomiting. If my LO has a spit up I can just wipe it off my shoulder.

@Georgina my LO was doing the same so i slowed down his feed, i still fed but maybe took him off for a breath and a pat on the back before giving him more. He doesn't generally cluster feed though he just eats a lot when he does feed (every 2 to 3 hrs atm) its vomit to, yesterday i actually had to bath him. My wee one is only 11 days old 😂
