I've been trying to get my LG (4 months) to take formula (currently exclusively breast fed) so I have options to leave her with people. She is having absolutely none of it. I've been using ready to feed bottles and have tried loads of different brands. I've decided to give up but I have a almost full bottle of ready to feed formula in the fridge that I can use until this evening and wondered if I can cook with it? When making purees they say you can use breast milk and I just wondered if you can use formula in the same way. Any one have any experience? Or any advice for how to get her to accept formula before I give up completely

Have you tried Kendamil formula? I started my baby on Aptamil but when he started to be a bit constipated at around 5 months, I did some research and decided to try him on Kendamil. This was the best decision ever, he has been so happy with it, no more tummy problems and regretted not doing that research before birth as I would have had him on Kendamil from the beginning. Its ingredients are more natural and much closer to the real deal

You can use it just like BM in purees

When I had to go back to work and I was transitioning from BM to formula ( my baby was the same, hated all kinds of formula), I mixed it with breastmilk. Start with little formula and slowly increase. It worked for my baby

Use the mam bottles and watch a video on paced feeding. Tickle the teat of bottle on top lip and wait for baby to open mouth so that they put the teat in. Also try warming feed a little. Ready to feed 70 ml teats are terrible so pour into mam bottles. This worked for us tomee tipee bottles were awful and he would scream.

Thanks ladies. I tried kendamil as a last resort and she won't take it, but I'll try mixed with breast milk!
