Hi everyone, just wondering what everyone's Bedtime and sleep schedule is looking like around 9.5/10 months?
My baby used to go to bed around 7:30 but as times gone on and we're on 2 naps it's become more like 6pm and I'd like it to be later and for him to sleep past 5:40/6am.
Currently if he wakes at 6, first nap falls around 9, naps for 1.5 hours until 10:30am. Next nap would be due around 1/1:30pm, nap around 1-1.5 hours wakes around 2:30pm. Let's assume last wake window gets pushed to 3.5 hours, this would mean start Bedtime around 5:30, asleep by 6pm. Let's assume he sleeps 11 hours overnight, so he would wake up between 5-6am (allowing for night wakes). How do I get him to go to bed later and wake later? If I push him past 3 hours awake he has false starts in his naps and Bedtime. He is also showing plenty of tired signs during the day and before Bedtime to indicate a nap so I don't think his windows should be stretched much more. Thoughts?

Hey! I suggest googling the huckleberry sleep schedule. My daughter was pretty much aligned with theirs-but I know all bubs are different.

Wake windows generally lengthen as the day progresses. Whatever is your first window, try adding half an hour to the next, e.g first window (from wake up till 1st nap) is 2.5hr, then 3hr before 2nd nap, and 3.5hr before bedtime. I reckon the false start could be due to undertiredness. With my kids I didn't act on first sign of tiredness but would often wait for the 2nd yawn to start our bedtime routine. In the late evening I would also take my baby outside to get some fresh air, which helped to extend the wake window as bub would get a new wave of energy.
I've seen routines of like 3/3.5/3.5 or 2/3/4 etc so was going with the first. It's definitely overtired and not under tired, as he's yawning heaps, rubbing his eyes, tugging his ears and I don't act on the first sign either. He normally won't eat his dinner because he's so tired

I would personally try and extend the second wake window. So our first nap is at around 930/10 and she usually sleeps for around 1.5-2 hours. Then her second nap isn't until around 230/3 and she's usually asleep for about 45 minutes to an hour and then we usually do about 3.5 hours between that nap and bedtime so that usually falls between 7 and 730
what time does your bub wake up?

Usually anywhere between 6 and 7, but usually around 630. You can try just slowly increasing the wake windows until you get to the bedtime you want and hopefully the wake time will get later at the same time
thanks, I have been trying but it's like he's so overtired, multiple false starts etc and then will wake up at 5am. Then it's just a vicious cycle

It's so hard honestly 😭 we struggled with her sleep for so long and it's still hit and miss some days, but it eventually mostly worked itself out

We currently run on the following schedule for our 9.5MO:
Wake 6-6:30am
Nap #1 - 9:30 (30mins)
Nap#2 - 13:00 (2hrs)
Bedtime - 19:00
Overnight wakes for milk - 1 or 2
Maybe try the shorter morning nap and a longer afternoon one? Hard to know what will suit your routine. Good luck 🤞🏻

Every bub is different.
But what's worked for us is, if my bub has an early wake, I've reset him with a short 10-15min nap to help push bed time back. Good luck! xx

My son is 11 months old
Bed time - between 9 930pm
Wakes up 8-830am
1st nap between 11 1130am
2nd nap between 330 4pm
Bed same time
when do you do the reset nap?

I've had him wake 2 hours early and found having the quick nap about 2 hours before bedtime (or in the place of one of the naps) to help push his bedtime back that 2 hours.
My bub is actually glitching a bit atm because he is a couple of weeks off being 12 months and going through the regression / teething fun again 🫠
Hopefully you can find something that helps your bub. xx

9.5 month old
Wake: 7am
Nap 1: 10am for 30mins only
3 hour wake window
Nap 2: 1:30pm for an hour or two
Bed time is 5 hours after waking up from second nap.
5 hour wake window before bed has helped immensely!
