Maternity leave - and you?

I get 18 weeks at 100%

I got stat mat leave. They are changing the policy from 1st of July to give 12 weeks at full pay, 12 weeks at 50% and remaining 15 weeks at normal stat rate...

Just fyi statutory is 90% salary OR ~175 a week - whichever is LOWER. Your company may give you 90% but if it says it's statutory pay it's the above not just blanket 90%. I don't believe that's generous, most companies give you around 16 weeks full pay. Mine gives me 26 weeks full pay and then 13 weeks statutory pay and 13 weeks no pay (but I'm a civil servant so it's incredibly good)

oh no I meant my company is changing their own policy to Statutory Maternity Pay to their improved policy mentioned above... Sorry haha

So like for me, your company is generous cause I don't have that haha
My previous pregnancy, I got 12 weeks at 90% from the startup I was working at.

It depends on the company and their policy. Mine was always 6wks 90% and the rest stat. They have recently changed I think mainly due to a few higher up people going on mat leave (thank god!) to 18wks 90% & the rest stat! Then unpaid for 3 months which I'm not taking anyway

I get 6.5 months at full pay, then 2.5 at stat and then nothing, but I will have a full leave year so that will give me another 1.5 months of full pay

Just be aware that if you have an enhanced mat pay, it normally comes with a clause that you have to return to work for the company for so long or
You need to pay it back. I only got smp with my first, sahm now so won't get anything 😂

I get 4 months full pay x

We get 22 weeks at full pay (that's for mums and also for dads as well), then 17 weeks stat and anything after that unpaid.

We're also using the shared parental leave scheme, so for us, after my 22 paid weeks I'll take 17 weeks unpaid then a mixture of different types of leave from my company and whatever leave and pay entitlement I don't use will be given to my partner so we can have more time off together. I'll have a total of 47 weeks and he will get 17 weeks (4 weeks fully paid paternity from his company and 13 weeks at statutory taken from our shared pot).

Don't forget you will also accrue annual leave and bank holidays throughout your maternity leave period so you should be able to add that to your total leave xx

I get 8 weeks full pay, 18 weeks half pay + statutory, 13 weeks statutory and then 13 weeks nothing (although ill have 8.5 weeks annual leave to take in one go at the end so should only end up 5 weeks no pay)

I work at Booking.com - we have amazing benefits, especially that 22 weeks full pay applies to new dads as well, but the civil service jobs really do seem to have the best policies on leave!

I get 14 weeks full pay then the rest up to 39 at SMP

Also ladies it’s going up in April don’t know if everyone knows! Not much mind going from the £172 a week to £184 a week xx

yeah the increase is lower than the minimum wage increase (in terms of %)...

where do you work? That sounds like a dream! I get 4 months at 90%, 2 months at 80% and the last 6 months statutory

I get 26 weeks at full pay and then SMP for 13 weeks and then unpaid but I'll use my annual leave, probably works out at about 5.5 weeks of annual leave!

8 weeks full, 13 weeks hslf plus SMP (but can’t exceed full pay) and 13 weeks SMP.

I’m civil service. I get 26 full, 6 weeks enhanced SMP where they top up the 90% SMP to for 6 weeks to 100%. Luckily I’m going the beginning of AL year so I get about 6 weeks worth of annual leave and bank holidays so works out 38% full pay 😅

I work in a school. I only get 6 weeks of 90% then statutory maternity pay x

I only get statutory in my job so 6 weeks 90% and then £172 for the rest of it. My boss said to me that he doesn’t care how long I take off because he doesn’t pay maternity so I’ll be the one begging him to come back early 😳 That was when I decided I won’t be coming back after maternity at all
