Morning ladies, wondered if anyone had any thoughts on this as I'm stressing about it.
I've been monitoring our bedroom temperature for the couple of months as I know this is a cold house, to make sure it's within the guidelines of 16-20 degrees for Babies. The bedroom temperature before bed (when we turn the heating off) is barely hitting 16 degrees. Then in the night, it's hitting a low of 13 degrees. Last night I made hubby keep the heating on 18 degrees all night so we could see what happens to the Thermometer by morning and the average low in the night had been 16 degrees. Having both woke up drowsy & head achy, hot in the night, just don't think it's going to be feasible to keep the heating on like that constantly.. Also theres the cost aswell.
I've already bought swaddles, 2.5 togs (for room temp 16-20 degrees). Aiming to put them in a long sleeve vest, baby grow then swaddle. I'm apprehensive to buy another swaddle for colder room temps 14 - 16 degrees. When in the night it's not even hitting that. Then there's the simple fact that baby might hate swaddling, so it will just be a blanket.. 😶
Somebody send help please! Lol x

I'm having the same issue! I was thinking of an oil radiator to have on low in the bedroom overnight rather than the whole heating. I've got some 2.5 tog love to dream swaddles and was planning on baby grow and vest. I was considering whether or not I should buy a 3.5 tog one or not too!

Following as same problem!

literally think I'm gonna end up with a 3.5 tog. But sizing on love 2 dream swaddles is abit riduclous. If you have 7.10 baby, do yo buy the Newborn or small. Bare in mind the Newborn size might last not even a week based on their weight guide.. Ahhh!

Sleeping bag ? I used a baby sleeping bag for my first, he was born in November so it was freezing at night we just put him in a long sleeve, sleep suit/onsie and then into the sleeping bag. No issues like that. This time we're doing the same. We never put the heating on because we cant afford it 🫣 but live in a block of flats in the middle so we get other peoples heat 😂

Im having the same issue. The room is anywhere between 12-14 if lucky even with a space heater. We have high ceilings and not good insulation at all. I just want this winter months to pass quick!

My baby girl is 5 days old and this has been the only thing that consistently worrying me. We have the grow egg in our room and it’s great to let us know. We’re roughly on 15.8-16.5 at the moment. We put the heating on when it gets below 15.5 and do it that way.
She sleeps in a short sleeve vest, baby grow & 2.5 tog sleep bag. I’ve had 2 midwives out bcos I’m being monitored for high blood pressure and both have said this set up is perfect. Much safer for baby to be cooler than too warm. We’ve decided to just go with it for now 15.5 lowest but baby is warm and happy and definitely not cold!
