I would call up and ask. I was given my date at my 36 week appointment.

I received my phone call with a date this morning but I’ll be 41 weeks on the day they’ve booked, however, I had been left without that discussion and should have really been clearer with them earlier on. I was on a cancellation list and wasn’t considered priority despite there being a medical need for me to have it. I wonder if you could call your local hospital to ask when they expect you’ll be contacted and to give you some reassurance? If you’re on a cancellation list though they told me they couldn’t give me an estimated date due to being busy which was so frustrating x

I would call them up and ask for an explanation as to why you’re not considered a priority.

I know for me I only booked a c-section because I had a previous c-section and didn’t want another emergency c-section. This has turned into a VBAC instead as I went into labour and gave birth hours before I was due in to have my c-section.

I’ve not know this , I’ve only know and my experience also is that you get booked in earlier than this.
I got booked in at 36 weeks last time and 32 this.
Can you call and ask? Xx

I really hope that is not going to be my story 😕 my baby is in en extended breech position, I've got an ecv booked for tomorrow, but if they don't manage to turn him, it would be a c section, and I really don't want to worry about going into labour while they faf around saying they will call me at some point. Especially since I had to chase them twice about the ecv in the first place, and then I got covid a day before I was meant to have it so they moved it back another week. 😐

I’ve had nothing but trouble with my local hospital. They’ve given me Mondays date for my c-section and said they are too busy to get me in beforehand. The reason for the c-section is due to my baby being small and having restricted growth (I chose to have an elective over an induction). There is technically ‘no risk’ if I was to go into labour naturally even though my only option for intervention would be an emergency section if it came to it. They have been very unsupportive of my decision not to have an induction x

I’m 38 weeks + 4 days and still don’t have a date. I’m being told there’s no spaces. They wanted to do it at 38 weeks but looking unlikely.

3 days until c-section & my anxiety is so bad

Planed cs after emergency cs. I know this will be “different”. I know I won’t have the added trauma/ stressors… yet, I’m still extremely anxious. It hit me yesterday after my last OB apt when they gave me pre-op packets etc. I couldn’t sleep last night, and I’ve been anxious all day. How did you calm yourself before going in?

What if my anxiety is so bad, they say they need to put me to sleep to do it? I don’t know, that’s probably not how they decide to do that, but I’m just freaking out tonight 😞

C section

For the women who have had a C-Section, how long did you take pain meds for?

Headache and thirst

After some advice before I call triage unnecessarily. I drank 3 pints of water during the night as I was so thirsty and I am still super thirsty now. I’ve got a headache which isn’t really shifting even with paracetamol. I generally just feel a bit off. I’m just under 37 weeks.

I’ve had 3 negative gestational diabetes tests this pregnancy as I had GD in my last pregnancy and baby is measuring above 97th percentile.

Vaginal or c-section? Where’s your head at?

So many friends have started asking me what I’m thinking about birthing plan and to be honest I’ve not really thought about it (probably should at some point 🫣) A number of friends didn’t have great birthing experiences and ended up with emergency c-sections which got me researching planned ones despite it never previously being something I had considered.

I’m curious to see where other mums-to-be heads are at with this one & thoughts behind it? No judgement here! 🥰

C section mamas - tummy and around the incision still tender?

I had my c section 3.5 weeks ago and generally I’m feeling good but if I touch or put any pressure on my stomach above my c section then it’s still pretty tender.

Do others have this?
