Does anyone know or recommend any good resource base schools, failing that a SEMH school( social, emotional and mental health)?
I've got to research schools that have the right resources for my autistic 5 year old son and the Birmingham city website is just crap. They list schools that have barely anything for SEN.

I used to work in a SEMH school and honestly its more like a naughty boys school, their provisions weren't great, more of a dumping ground for kids who cant access mainstream. I would honestly recommend trying a decent mainstream school with a good SEN provision before trying the SEMH school route if you think your child could still access a mainstream style education with support. You might be able to get 1:1 classroom support depending on your child's needs

A great school for SEMH is when stone lodge. However, it may be a travel.

If you go on the Birmingham .gov website you can search add specific bases at school. Hope you find somewhere

Thanks for your view . My friends son goes to one and he does well there.. but obviously everyone is going to have different experiences!

I did this initially and then when I went on their websites they didn't have much to offer at all... Certainly didn't have a resource base.
Doesn't help that none of the schools I'm messaging are answering me back.

How frustrating hopefully you get some answers and find something I would ring them up just be a pest as it is important for your little one to get what they need 😊
