Is anyone else experiencing feeding distractions by your lo

So baby is just 3 months this week. Still feeding every 2-3 hours 4 ounces. Not on
The dot tho I usually wait until I see hunger cues. However last days he seems like he makes it through the first ounce or two and starts by pulling away or playing with the bottle nipple but not getting anything in. Looking around everywhere almost as distracted.

I give him a break, burp him, diaper change then I offer it again. Night feeds no problem but during the day I end up with some type of leftover. An ounce or so.

I kind of don’t want to develop a distraction routine while feeding so early to avoid future problems at eating times. Not sure if I am feeding him too often or too much.

Advice? Ideas? Experience?

Following because my son is doing something similar.

If the tv or music is on, he'll stop eating to look towards the noise. Sometimes, he gets distracted by his hand moving and just wants to look at it. I think it's because he's figuring out the world and wants to see everything around him. I try to keep him paying attention by taking to him, or letting him grab my finger so it kind of brings him back to eating.

We had the same problem and had to get the number 2 nipple flow. It helped so much! They get bored if they are working too hard and not getting enough milk. I hope it helps!

Same here, but she loves her food, so it's not too big of an issue. What I heard that feeding in dark room helps a lot, I'll try it if she will continue to get distracted

@Masha I have noticed his night feedings go by so much better than during the day because we use dim lights and just white noise.

Same here, night feedings no problem. Such a breeze, day feedings is what I see an issue on!

maybe it is just needing a dark room to feed! I googled it and number 3 nipples should start at 6 months. Even though all babies are different haha

true, and to be fair my baby is 3 months but he looks like 6 😅😅
Anyway I just bought new number two nipples advent. This is what it says on the box.
0m - 1
0m+ - 2
1m+ - 3
3m+ - 4
6m+ - 5

So I might give it a try!

Babies don’t always drink the same amount of milk each feed. For example if they have 6oz one feed then they may have 3-4oz the next feed. Also, distraction is going to happen more and more the older they get. Everything is new to them. My girl has just realized she has feet and is in the stage of trying to grab them with her hands and mouth 🤣We have a 2yr old daughter also and that distracts/entertains our baby girl a lot. It’s all normal mama, no need to worry. But if you have concerns you can also make an appt with your pediatrician ❤️

Sleeping bag

8 week old in sleeping bag for first time as big enough! Do you feed your child in the night whilst in the sleeping bag or taken them out, feed then transfer back to sleeping bag before putting down?

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

My little one is struggling with sleep

Hey! I'm in need of some advice please girls! My little boy is 20 months turns 21 months in 2 half weeks. He use to sleep through the night now he is waking up every single night in the early morning, I've had to transition him to a toodler bed as he kept climbing out his cot. Just need some advice on what I can do to help him get back in to a sleep pattern?

Am I wrong?

I’ve been wanting to add more garden beds to my garden. Husband says “hey do you want to go to Home Depot to get that wood for the garden beds.” Cool I’m excited I’ve been wanting to get this done for awhile.

We get there and we’re picking out wood and I make 2 comments about how I don’t like how 2 pieces of wood look that he picked out. And he says if you’re going to be this picky then u can do this yourself.

I literally made 2 comments and mind you I’m the one paying for the wood.

I felt dismissed and like my opinion didn’t matter and if I wanted to have an opinion then I need to do it myself. Like what?

It was rude and not okay. Am I wrong? Am I overreacting?

He thinks it was fine that he said that.

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism
