thinking back and hearing of others c-section experiences i seem to have gotten off easy . my baby was born at 1am and i walked the entire pp unit by 7am . i’m now 3.5 months pp and it’s almost like it didn’t happen at all . anyone else feel like their recovery was easier than people make it seem ? (also if you’ve heard a lot of bad things about the process i hope this helps ease your mind 🫶🏾)

Nah mine was shit

I’m also 3 months pp and other than how my body has changed it’s like my c-section didn’t happen x

Yes mine was easy, but it was really hard the first week, I’m barely going to be 2 months pp in it feel like I didn’t even have surgery, I do have a little soreness bellow my belly button but it’s not bad

Same it was good besides the first week by week two I was fine and you can’t even see my c section line

It's wildly different for everybody. It depends on the reason for your c-section, position of the baby, duration of the operation, blood loss, complications and infections, etc, etc. I was still numb and in recovery 6hrs after mine, so it would have been impossible for me to walk anywhere 🤣

Mentally I haven't healed from the procedure
I can't explain it but it seems my mental health is rock bottom due to having to go through a c section.
We'd been through ivf which is tough, the pregnancy wasn't easy and I desperately wanted to go through the labour.
I felt like something was missing. I love my LO to pieces, she is healthy and she certainly wasn't coming naturally but I feel like I failed in a way.
None of it makes sense

Mine was absolutely horrible. I’m also 3 months pp

Had mine at 5pm and was walking by 8pm … 7 weeks later feels like it didn’t happen either

I had a c-section 5 years ago, recovering went really well. Didn't have any complications.
I'm due to have another one in march. Hoping it goes as well as it did the first time x

Mine was great too. I hope I have another this time x

i can understand that , i was mentally broken when i was told i needed to have a c-section but was also terrified to have a vaginal birth . i did want to experience but im grateful i was able to have my baby through all the complications we were having

I was walking about fine after mine one day i was a bit soar but that’s because I hadn’t moved from sleeping and once I started walking was fine again 😊

it's encouraging to hear someone else feel the way I did.
I'm sure my mental health issues are down to the c section
I was induced but she had wrapped the cord around her legs, even though I had labour pains, I wasn't dilating, she wasnt going anywhere x

Nah mine was awful ! From heamstoma to swollenness feet to skin thickness around the scar … so yeah nothing good

the swollen feet were the worst. They took ages to go down, along with the legs

My recovery was surprisingly easy. I was so greatful and surprised. The first 2-3 days were uncomfortable but not unbearable.
When I was discharge at 5 days pp I literally walked the whole hospital and at least 5-6 blocks to my car (husband drove.)
Im pregnant again - 22 weeks with a 15 month old and hope recovery will be as easy but you never know!

I think we also need to remember that not everyone’s experience is the same and mommas who have had hard c sections and recoveries need to give themselves some grace. I think it’s great you had an easy c section and recovery I wouldn’t wish what myself and others have encountered during their own experience. But what keeps me going is knowing my daughter is here and healthy and I would have a shit experience all over again if that meant having her.

Mine was big shit had utheral injury, just found after 6 days still in hospital

I had a myomectomy in july and it was awful. I can't understand how i could have the same procedure with a baby on top. I'm 6 months on and can't seem to get rid of my pouch. Hoping I'll have a natural birth!

My recovery was HORRIBLE. But I also labored for 36 hours with 5.5 hours of pushing, uterine infection, bad reaction to the medications in hospital. My son came down crooked and got stuck so I had to have an unscheduled csection (they tried shoving him back up to get him positioned correctly). But anyways I barely could stand after 12 hours lol it took me about 6 weeks to walk without excruciating pain. It was horrible.

i 100% agree but going into labor everyone was telling me that they’d hope i didn’t have to get a c-section because of all the horrible things that come with so i posted this to reassure people not to go into it with a mind clouded by all the bad things people say

i was also in labor for 36 hours , didn’t get to the point of pushing though . they broke my water at 3cm dilated but i didn’t dilate past 4cm so because my water was broken for so long i got an infection and they gave me antibiotics that i wasn’t aware that im allergic to so my sons heart rate started dropping and mine was going up fast so i had to have an emergency c-section

@Star 🦋 omg 😭 allergic reactions to antibiotics can be so bad too! I've heard emergency csections can be so rough too! Mine was classified as unscheduled so it wasn't super crazy rushed. But the infections were rough! My water was also broken accidentally during a cervical check at 3.5cm and then my blood pressure dropped dramatically from fentanyl that they thought my son's cord was being compressed. I woke up to like 10 doctors in my room multiple people putting their hands in and out of my vagina haha and then they checked my cervix a million times while I was pushing trying to figure out why he wasn't coming out. I think that's how I got my uterine infection🫠🫠.oh birth...how lovely 😂

My first c-section was like that but my second one is a whole different level and I honestly hate my recovery journey with this one.

totally ! I could not walk it was painful

I was up and walking as soon as I could. 5 days after I was going on 4km walks (very slowly and lots of breaks) to the local shops and back. But then I have had lots of practice recovering from stomach surgery as I suffer from bad bouts of endometriosis too
