Baby’s nails

I need some advice!
I currently file my baby’s nails but no matter how much I do it he still manages to scram his face. I’ve also tried biting them but he still manages to scram himself, I’m wayyyy too scared to cut them, what else can I try? He won’t keep scratch mittens on either. TIA x

Mine is the same. I've noticed he mainly claws his face after a feed/when he is sleepy so I put the wee built in mittens on the baby grow over at these times, although I avoid mittens where possible because it's a crucial time for them learning to use their hands! His forehead is currently a mess with scratches and thats with cutting and filing🙄

it’s not even certain times he just does it whenever, but mainly when he’s tired. His face is covered in scratches at the moment it looks awful😩I put the babygrows with the build in mittens for bed but he’s not a fan of them and like you said I want him to learn how to hold things as he’s almost 4 months. We just can’t win! X

I feel you, I didn't want to take my girl to toddlers today coz I knew everyone would be commenting on the state of my babies head 🙄

that’s like me, I don’t want peoples judgy comments! Although we shouldn’t care really as they are babies and we can’t stop them all the time!

it's not even that it's particularly judgmental, just cba hearing it like 100 times 🤣 it's like when your pregnant and everyone is commenting on everything. I kept getting "any day now" from people when I was only 7 month pregnant lol

aww my first partially broke my waters at 34 weeks. Didn't come till 37. I think I had a lot of water with both babies as my bumps were enormous. The classic "are you sure it's just one in there" too. Real original. Fml 🙄

they tried to stop him but he wasn’t waiting🤣yeah all the comments you get when pregnant are annoying haha!

I always cut them when she's asleep, it can be done really quickly then, I do the toenails too

he wakes up🤦🏽‍♀️his toenails are fine because he can’t really scratch himself as he wear socks and babygrows, it’s just his finger nails and no matter how much I file them he finds a way to scratch himself

that's really frustrating, mines a light sleeper but I've been ok doing the nails, I've never tried with a file, might be worth trying with baby scissors if you have some.
Hopefully he doesn't scratch himself too badly

I have this but when I use it his fingers seem to go red and sore, so I’ve resorted to a manual file now x

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Has anyone got any tips on how to GET RID of dummies😂🤦🏼‍♀️ my little girl is obsessed and i have no idea where to start!!

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.

Did I overreact?

I have had 3 c sections, recently had a wisdom teeth removal (4) to be exact and all my mom did was visit the day BEFORE and then she only sent 1 text. She has NEVER spent one full day with me and doesn’t acknowledge my achievements much. She just isn’t there when I need her to be. She claims she’s always working but she lives like 7 minutes away! she can come help with the kids so my husband can have break? we don’t ask her for much and she only sees the kids 1-2 a month. She also didn’t visit with my last c section. I told her that she should’ve gotten the abortion when she had the chance with me because why would you have me and neglect me emotionally? To not actually give me a present father in my life. I am very angry all she does is disappoint me. She only wants to show up for certain people in the family and I just want to grab her and shake her and ask her why can’t she be a good present mother?
