My son is a year old and we have been trying to introduce solids since October. But it just seems he’s not into it at all. He will literally force himself to throw up and gag anytime I tried to. He’s been on baby-food for a while and the baby oatmeal I mix it in and stuff. But Wic just keeps telling me to keep trying and I have been doing that. What are some tips you have tried?

Maybe start him off with soft solids like avocado, mashed potatoes, yogurt, banana. Cut it really small and let him play in it.

Mine was like that too, and so when she got teeth I decided to let her try snacks I was eating, (i may be judged for this but cheeto poofs) and she realized she liked them so anytime I was eating I would share a bite of whatever it was and then she just started going to town! We just got her eating solids regularly. It's tough but keep at it! We are only human and doing the best we can with what we've got, don't be too hard on yourself!

I don't buy anything now that my LO can't eat because she demands all my food. And even if she just takes a bite that's one more exposure to food she has. I always eat with her and we have loose food routine so she knows that she won't be getting milk first.
Try everything. Today I bought sauerkraut because it was on sale. She ate almost all that I put on her plate but is second guessing her teether crackers with peanut butter 🤷 they really need just constant exposure and to not have a lot of stress to explore.

1. If your baby is thriving, you're doing fine. Some babies take longer to show interest in solids.
2. Your little is doing baby food so don't worry about it. Again, some babies take their time adjusting to actual adult solids.
3. Yes, keep trying. Little by little.
I did applesauce and thing let him nom on an apple I was eating. Same thing with mashed potatoes. If he saw me eating it, he wanted it. He is a picky eater and sometimes he eats like a bird but, the important part is that he's thriving.
As long as your baby is thriving, you're doing fine. Slow and steady mama.

Does he mimic you when you chew? I introduced purées at 3 months w all 3 of my kids but my youngest chewed things a lot sooner. I do notice a lot of texture problems so I let her feed herself & she eats them better
