Anyone else’s baby fight day naps? She’s been up for over 2 hours but every time she falls asleep and I put her down she wakes up within 5 minutes. I’m so exhausted of chasing after her trying to put her to sleep the entire day long. It’s all I do. I’ve become obsessed with getting her to sleep but it’s like she refuses it more and more. Eventually I cave and let her sleep on the swing because I cant be around her any longer. I don’t want her to get used to the swing but oh my god I’m so frustrated.

My baby is the same way. The only way she'll fall asleep and stay asleep is if she's sleeping on/with me. The moment I put her down or try to move she's awake and screaming bloody murder. It's been making it hard to take care of me unless either my BF or my dad is around to take her while I eat or shower.

I’ve got a Velcro baby too. At this age I’ve given up trying the bassinet for naps until he’s past 12 weeks. Either my partner or I hold him or I out him in the carrier. We haven’t had him sleep in the swing yet but we may just to free up a nap
I keep telling myself she’s just a newborn and needs the contact too until about 12 weeks so I don’t get why I’m forcing sleep training rn. I know it’s not possibly with a 8 week old so I need to remind myself and you just did so it’s helpful

Honestly yeah, , you also helped me too. OP, don't beat yourself up though. It's hard and definitely gets frustrating, and you're allowed to feel those things. Were gonna get through this 😄

hate me for it, but the only way i've kept my sanity is for my baby to sleep in the swing. she either sleeps on me or the swing, bassinet has happened a few times but we get solid hours in the swing
I hate feeling judged by people by it but it’s better than overtired baby who keeps waking up the moment I put her down in her bed.

My first slept almost every time in the swing (4moms) during day time naps my whole mat leave so until about 3 months. It didn't hinder his sleep training in my eyes. He slept through the night by 5 months and slept in his own room by 7 months (when he learned to self soothe). Do whatever works to keep you and baby happy :)

What I did was sleep Im him in the carrier then transfer him to his crib or bassinet , sometimes swaddling helped but I didn’t really do it much

I too have a velcro baby! He doesn't like his swing so thats out for us. He will only fall asleep laying next to me nursing then will pull ofr and use my boob as a pillow/comfort. He does a lot of comfort nursing too. If i move he wakes up cause the smell of food is gone. If I dont have the option to lay with him I'll wear him in the Moby wrap, he falls asleep in that. He likes movement to fall asleep. Thankfully, we have the Doona carseat/stroller cause he falls asleep in the car too. He has been awake the last couple weeks almost all day with 0-1 naps. We're in bed by 8-9pm these days.

I’m so glad I could help! I felt alot less stress when I let go of the expectation that my NB HAD to sleep somewhere on his own for naps and embraced the contact nap.
Being candid, I honestly don’t know if anything “works” to make a NB sleep on their own. I think some do and then some won’t. This is my second born - my first slept everywhere/anywhere and slept 8 hours straight by 6 weeks and full thru by 9 weeks. This one will only sleep on me and we are still on that 2-3 hour cycle (IF he sleeps in his crib on his own), sometimes up every hour for comfort. I’m not doing anything different/new, so frankly, it seems up to disposition of thr baby at this stage.
I keep hearing you have to make baby nap around the clock for at least 2 hours. I’m exhausted chasing after her trying to get her to nap but it seems like she doesn’t want to nap that long. Idk what’s normal and what’s not
