38 weeks developed pre-eclampsia

So I have been sent to the hospital with high blood pressure and they want to keep me in 24 hours as they think I have developed pre-eclampsia. They want to possibly discuss starting induction from 39/40 weeks but I didn’t really want induction due to complications and family history of complications from induction. I would rather just have a c section anyone have any experience with this? Or anyone been in a similar situation?

Can I request a c section instead of induction due to developing pre-eclampsia

Honestly if you wait longer the preeclampsia can get worse. Preeclampsia is very dangerous for you! It's life threatening!
I had preeclampsia with my first baby, and I got induced at 39 weeks and everything went smoothly. Yeah it won't go smoothly for everyone, but it's better to be induced then going through horrible preeclampsia.

I don’t want to wait longer the doctor said they would want to induce me from 39/40 weeks but my question is I would rather they got my baby out via c section due to concerns and family history so I am just wondering if I can request that at 39/40 over induction

Yes you absolutely can choose to have a c section over an induction. You have a right to choose how you give birth so they can’t decline you a c section x
