Colostrum collecting

Is anyone else starting to get a bit disheartened with colostrum collecting? Or have any top tips? It's day four and I'm hardly getting any even though I've had leaky boobs since Xmas. In the for days I've only collected about 1.3ml total.

I've had nothing at all and no leakage at all! Apparently it's white normal for some people, not everyone makes anything before they give birth

I'm getting the tiniest crust on one boob in the day, but tried to harvest and there's nothing no matter what I do, so think I'll stop now 🙃

I haven't seen the push back into chest advice on nhs guidance, so that might help?

Yes absolutely! I only manages 0.5ml in 3 hours on my first try 🤦🏽‍♀️despite leaking drops for months! I think i spent too long trying tho as my breasts were so sore so I haven't tried for 3 days now as it was such alot of effort for a minimal reward xxx

I didn't have much luck to start with at all but it has definitely improved over the last week or so (39 weeks tomorrow), try having a warm shower and massaging down and round with your fist for a little bit first. My midwife told me you should move all around when 'squeezing' to collect but i only get it from one particular spot, it just takes time to find it ❤️xx

Ladies please be encouraged!! I’m 40 weeks today!
Week 37, 38, no colostrum. Week 39…just drops. First time ever collecting at baby 2.. on day four today (40 weeks):

Day 1: few drops.. < 0.1 ml, 30 mins.
Day 2: 0.3 ml, 1.5 hours
Day 3: 0.5 ml, 2 hours
Day 4: 1.0 ml 🥹 today…1.5 hours.

It takes me so long….i been so discouraged but after looking at my records realizing it’s increasing slowly,

I’m celebrating small wins!

Keep going ladies! Finally reaching 1ml is a win, sore breasts and all.

I hope to get to 5ml before baby comes!

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

New born

Finally had my baby girl via C-section on the 18th, everything has been so far. But I’ve noticed she’s very fussy and cries a lot. I’ve been trying to exclusively breastfeed. The lactation consultant at the hospital said I did look like I’m making enough milk for her. She was latching on good at the hospital and now here at home, she doesn’t seem to want to latch at all. She’s been crying a lot and very fussy. I’m just wondering is she’s colic or like maybe she just doesn’t want the breast anymore?

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
