16 weeks - plus size - no bump

Around a size 16/18 carry a bit of weight in my tummy. Seeing all these bumps have popped and I’ve really got nothing! I’ve attached a pic (after food) where it looks like a little one but it goes straight back down in the morning to my flabby tummy! I also think the pic makes it look bigger.

I’m also struggling with some weight gain as I lost 4 stone and fell pregnant with clomid. I lost weight for this exact reason but putting back on the weight is scaring me!

I lost just over 2 stone before I found out I was pregnant, I’m a size 14/16 hating putting the weight back on and my bump has started more from the top than the bottom x

amazing !! I’ve defo not got anything at the top. Just that bloat on the pic after I’ve eaten 🙈. Just worrying me xx

Mine was a bloat for ages! Looked bigger in the evening only just started to look like a bump in the last few days in certain clothes and I’m nearly 16 weeks.x

I’m the same. I lost 16kg before our wedding in june and now I’ve put on 6kg and slightly nervous. Plus my family is asking for bump pictures and it just looks like rolls of tummy 😂

I just feel fatter too. Everyone seems to have popped out and I’m still here flabby lol

Avatar

Same with just being flabby 🤣 my partner says the belly feels different on gentle touch but I just look bloated at 15+4

I look like my usual self until the evening, I had a flabby belly anyway but at night time it definitely is more rounded and defined than my ‘normal’ tummy! I’m 16+5 for reference ☺️

Mad isn’t it. Just makes me worry so bad. But when I went for a scan two weeks ago she was like oh god no baby is still so small for a bump and feels etc

I'm 17 weeks and no bump, some days i look like ive popped and then i realise it's just bloat but my midwife said this could also be the baby in a different position in my placenta. So who knows maybe we do have a bump some times?

Avatar

I’m exactly the same hun I just look fat n flabby! Let’s be patient hopefully it will just pop and turn to bump in a few weeks xxx

I’m 15 weeks and just look like I’ve gained weight, mines mainly at the bottom of my stomach so just looks weird to me right now

I’m a size 16 and still can’t decide if it’s bloating or the start of a bump. I also carry weight on my stomach. Like lots of these other wonderful ladies have said, my tummy looks bigger and rounder at the end of the day. Sometimes if I ‘smooth’ my stomach out by gently pulling upwards I can start to see the start of a cute neat ‘bump’. I’m sure in time we’ll all pop and get the bumps we’re so excited to see! X

Plus size pregnancy bellies do look different and it's ok. I saw a post somewhere about normalising pregnancy bellies in various shapes as they're not always the ones portrayed in media etc

Avatar

I’m glad it’s not just me!! I was literally just thinking the same thing & saw your post. I’m also size 16/18 & 15 weeks & all I can see when I look in mirror is my normal belly 🙈

I spoke to my friend last night who is a midwife and she said the baby is still way under your belly button. She said people do get bumps but if you haven’t, there is nothing to worry about because it’s still sat underneath your belly button. She said she wouldn’t expect a bump until possibly 20 weeks plus and that’s why they only start measuring it at 24 weeks. I’m also tall and she said my uterus has room to grow up rather than out whereas if you’re short, the only way it can go is out. Plus the obvious having a bit more fat on my stomach xx

This is so reassuring!! Thank you hun! Xx

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!

Owlet

Anyone else’s owlet pi##ing them off ?!?! It goes off 5/6 a night saying it can’t get a reading and needs a snug fit. My baby is 8 months old so moves a lot. It is driving me insane and I keep end up taking it off!!
