My toddler is pretty good at talking usually, lately she’s been trying to talk but just gibberish comes out with a few words that I understand. When I try to tell her to repeat herself she will sometimes slows down and tells me what she’s trying to say. She still talks pretty good but I feel like when she’s trying to explain what she wants in longer sentences she starts to talk nonsense. Is this normal? She has been having a hard time going to bed and we’re also trying to potty train, could it all be related? And is she just trying to experiment with sounds idk. First time mom so I don’t know what’s going on😬

My toddler has been the exact same for a couple of weeks, just absolute nonsense coming out of her mouth when usually she just tells me what she needs/wants. I think it’s experimenting with different sounds, I hear her doing it while she’s playing too, it’s like she’s trying to copy how adults have a conversation but doesn’t have the words yet😂 I wouldn’t worry too much, will probably just be a little phase x

My daughter has been doing the same, she can speak in sentences and has done for a while, but she also comes out with absolute gobbledygook a lot at the moment, particularly when she’s singing! It’s like she’s made up her own whole new language sometimes 😂

Yes my daughter does this occasionally. But we think it's natural, probably just experimenting with sounds and language. It's quite nice to hear her do it as she's been talking so well for ages.

Maybe she is just practicing the flow of sentences. My daughter talks in sentences but somtimes mutters away to herself with nonsense (especially in the buggy) and when I ask her what's she is saying she just blushes and goes all shy. I'm sure they are just practicing :)

Thank you everyone! I really appreciate it❤️ just so strange to me but I guess it’s normal
