breast feeding issue 🥲

my 4 month old is now starting to teeth. ofc he has a favorite boob which happens to be the left, that nipple is super swollen and sore from him biting me. it’s sore to the touch and painful for him to latch on to me. the milk leaking is even painful as well, but not as painful as when i had a breast infection but it’s just the nipple . he hates bottles and gets fussy on the opposite side bc the milk doesn’t come out as fast/steady. anyone else dealing with a similar issue?

Maybe get him some teething toys so he can teeth on thoose and stop using you as one! You can also use a clean finger. Maybe that will duffrenciate teething time and feeding time for the baby. So when he really is hungry he will just be focused on drinking and not biting

He's going to have to get used to the bottle. Don't give him the option to refuse. May cause some fuss but let him cry it out a little & then keep bringing the bottle back. Eventually he will be too hungry & tired of crying to not take the bottle. Don't give in, it can work.

Teething toys but when he bites now shove his face into ur boob this will cause him to naturally release to try to breath through his mouth then lift him up say no bite and set him down. After a little bit u can try nursing again and each time he bites down repeat this and he will likely stop biting after a few times. My son it only took a few times before he got the message to not bite. He learned if he bite then he didn’t get to continue to nurse

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.

Breastfeeding

Does it ever feel better? The actual feeding part of it is going really well and baby boy is growing so well. I’m struggling with how my boobs feel day to day - it’s really getting me down most days. The let downs make me feel awful and sounds silly but, I am also really missing not wearing a bra! 9 weeks postpartum and still getting fairly engorged, even with comfort pumping.

Any advice or just shared stories would help. I’m so torn between carrying on because I enjoy the feeding side of it or switching to formula.
