I'm probably going to regret asking this when the "he sleeps all night!" answers roll in 🤣 but my son had a regression at 5 months round Xmas and his sleeps gone to pot since. He always needed fed during the night but now he's waking tons between, just wants to be held. He was always in crib at night no trouble before the regression. How are your July 2023 babies sleeping? And has anyone done any gentle but effective sleep training?

Same boat exactly
We co sleep right now or we don't sleep 🤣

Contact a sleep coach! I paid about £399 and it was the best money we ever spent, within 4 days he was sleeping right though and has slept amazing ever since. He needs to learn to fall asleep independently so when he is waking from each sleep cycle throughout the night, the only way he knows how to go back to sleep is to be held to sleep, they don’t need any night feeds once fully weaned either - so from 6m plus! I’m happy to recommend the woman we used. She was amazing. We have been a much happier family ever since!

who did you use? What sleep method does she follow? :)

@Leah that worked at first but no I call is cosleep nosleep as he's so fidgety and wakes loads too!

Now I call it*

contact @theinternationalbabywhisperer on instagram. She was amazing! It obviously does involve some crying but only a couple of minutes the first few goes, but you are constantly going back in and reassuring them. Until they feel confident in their sleep space. You will be surprised how quickly they learn, I thought he’d be up for hours and hours screaming but nope! She was constantly in touch via a live chat telling you what to do. And even if they get ill/teething etc we just keep applying what we learnt to get back on track. It’s so worth the investment for a lifetime of amazing sleep! A well rested family is a happy family xx

Horrendous as of the last couple of weeks. Choked with the cold which is making it ten times worse. Weaning, so he's got a farty tum a lot more which isn't helping. Teething for months which isn't helping. Going through leaps and regressions... Which isn't helping 😳🤯

What is sleep? 😴 🥴

Exactly the same here too. She slept right through the night from 7am-7pm up until around Christmas, then it all went to pot. I am planning to start some very gentle sleep training soon, but we have visitors with us the last few weeks, so waiting for them to go first!

My baby has never slept through the whole night. He was up every 30mins until we moved him into this own room. He loves having a big bed to roll around in and star fish 😅 He now sleeps for on average three and a half hours and then needs a feed, although sometimes that is stretched to 5 hours. He wakes up genuinely hungry so I don't mind. He's always been dinky and a foody, so I do feel he still needs feeding through the night. Everywhere I've read says some babies still do need feedings in the night. He has 2 or 3 feedings. Throughout the day he usually has 1 nap in the car either going to or coming back from somewhere, one nap in the buggy on a dog walk, and then 2 naps during the day which we use a gentle sleep training method for him to put himself to sleep, but I'll be honest, sometimes I just need a break so I will feed him to sleep then too.

My little one slept really well until about 4 and a half months then was the same, up every half an hour wanting a feed or just held. Would wake up whenever we tried to put her in the cot again. After a couple of months we tried the Ferber method and it worked great for us. It took about 45 minutes of crying the first time we put her down and her sleep has been great ever since. She wakes at 2 and 6 for a quick 5 min feed then is straight back to sleep

My son has never slept through, but it did take a dip in December. Before December, he was sleeping from 9-3. Waking up for a feed and change. Now he has 40 minute nap at 8, but once he wakes up, he’s all go until 12. From there he will sleep until 6.
