Disappointed

I was just able to schedule an appointment this morning. My insurance took forever to approve my referral. It isn't until March 20th 😒😞 I'll be 10ish weeks. Anyone else have this issue? I'm 6w5d

March 29th is INSANE. I'm not even seeing a doctor. So I don't know if I'll get an ultrasound. I'm doing this at a different location this time 😭 Going to PP is a good idea!!

I've contacted multiple OBGYN's and they all are booking at 10 weeks not earlier. I'm sad after seeing all these ladies getting 7 week appointments, but I guess it'll just make my appointment really special

Avatar

I thought 8 weeks was the standard, that’s crazy y’all! I’m going the midwife/home birth route with this one (my second) and I already went to see her at 5 weeks 😆 not going to try to do any heartbeats yet. And she is going to refer me to her ultrasound guy so I guess I’ll find that out soon

Avatar

Mine is the 28th, at 12 weeks. 😭

Usually for a normal healthy pregnancy they don't schedule until 8-12 weeks just to make sure you can hear the heartbeat on an ultrasound. A healthy pregnancy only has about 2 ultrasounds. So don't worry! Everything is going according to plan

....although that being said I'm not sure how every one is getting these frequent scans 😅

insanity 😭

Avatar

literally 🤨 I'm so jealous lol

In my first pregnancy, the provider let me do an ultrasound anytime I wanted. This is so stressful!

Avatar

You can always get a private scan, we did it for our first because my husband couldn't get off for our first appointment. It was around 50$ though. If you live in the US Peekaboo has a few locations nationwide, although I think the earliest they do is 6weeks

Avatar

thank you! I live in SD and yes I've actually seen a peekaboo location before!

Avatar

I said usually, my primary did mention this though but she said they didn't have an US machine 😅

Avatar

I went to a private place with free funding for my first scan because I couldn’t wait, and the only reason I got mine from my doctor today was because I was a week off! So today was supposed to be my 8 week ultrasound I just happened to be only 7.

Avatar

10 weeks is a perfect time for the ultrasound! No doubt you’ll see a baby and see a heart beat! Think of it as a blessing in disguise! ❤️

Avatar

Our standard around here is 12 weeks before they’ll even take you for a confirmation of pregnancy. I fought like hell to get an 8 week appointment, and they only agreed because we have a previously booked and paid cruise at 9 weeks, and I’m considered high risk.

Avatar

My first I went in for a pee test only to confirm at around 8 weeks and then I had my first ultrasound at 12 weeks

Avatar

I will also say that my cousins dr always let’s her get ultrasounds at like 6 ish weeks and it always causes her stress bc they can’t quite get a good heartbeat yet

Avatar

Mine is at 11 weeks too. With my provider apparently if you see a gynecologist they could have done a pregnancy confirmation and all the fun stuff earlier. But they keep obstetrics totally separate…how are women just supposed to know that lol

Is this little red bit on my section scar normal? It’s not oozing anything, doesn’t hurt but it’s the only bit on my scar like it so just curious! (19 days PP)

Anyone else felt like this?

Hi, I’m 4 months postpartum, little one sleeps through the night and is formula fed, the last week I’ve felt extremely tired and very hungry! Just wondered if anyone else has felt this way/experienced this?

Pregnant with baby 2

Hi everyone! I gave birth via emergency c section 9 months ago as my baby boy was measuring big, he pooped inside so there was risk of him inhaling it and I wasn’t progressing past 3cm to have a natural birth and now I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby. I’m having a consultation on Tuesday to talk about birth options and to have any questions answered but I don’t know what to ask. I feel like it would be safer having a c section again but at the same time I don’t want a c section. Does anyone have any question ideas I could ask or any advice/stories of similar situations. Tia

Hey what are your current symptoms?

I’m 37+5

I’m pretty mobile still but anything over a hour or 2 and I’m in discomfort

Getting up from a sitting position is hard

Some of baby’s movements now are bordering on painful especially around my crotch/pelvis

I’m exhausted very easily and nap every single day

Can basically only breathe out my mouth now and I’m snoring and dribbling 😂

Standing in one leg is very painful 😂

Some waves of pain/ tightening but I regular and mild

Low period type aches

And I feel like a fire breathing dragon with this acid reflux

My nose is growing 😂

My fingers swell slightly and go numbs in my sleep so that and constant toilet breaks keep me up ( checked swelling with MW and consultant and all normal, not a worry)

I also do not want to be social in person like I’d rather everyone just be my penpal atm lol

What are your symptoms?

Fatigue

I had a GP (it was a woman) tell me she’s never heard of fatigue or exhaustion in the first trimester and that my body shouldn’t be tired from “making a few cells” - she asked if I was depressed and if I wanted to keep the baby/if it was planned and was kinda blaming me on not getting out of bed enough. I’m usually a very busy person, who is always on the go. All my bloods have been coming back okay, but the exhaustion is next level. I said it just feels like I’ve had the flu for the last 6 weeks. She said well is it the flu? That I should be energised and never heard of women being so exhausted before. She was very rude and just feels like it’s my fault I feel this way.
