I’ve been have PPA and my husband has been wanting to nap with our son. I’ve been super against it as my husband is a heavy sleeper. He snores, doesn’t hear his alarm and when we first brought our son home, didn’t hear him cry. Today I went to get my hair done and he tells me “I took a nap with him and you weren’t here to micromanage” and walked away. I’m enraged and he doesn’t seem to get it.

Have him come to the next pediatrician appointment. The doctor will tell him SIDS is the number 1 reason babies die at this age, and while cosleeping can be made safer with some safety precautions it should only be done with a breastfeeding MOTHER, not father. You aren’t micromanaging, he is ignoring recommendations with tons of evidence behind them. Why wouldn’t he want to take precautions against the most likely thing to kill his child?

If my husband did this it would fundamentally break the way I view him. Don't leave your son with him and yeah make him go to the next doctors visit and let the doctor chew him out for it.

That goes to show just how much he values your opinions and cares about your mental health. He needs to listen to your worries and concerns, and do everything he can to avoid causing you more stress. He could really hurt your baby by napping with him. That also goes to show how much he values your baby's life. How immature...
Thanks ladies for the validation. I currently co-sleep with my LO because he’s going through something where he will wake up every 15 minutes if he’s in his own bed. But I breastfeed and have done a ton of research on safety. He just doesn’t understand and comes from a family that doesn’t believe in mental health.
